Former U.S. Amb. to Ukraine Bridget Brink has jumped into the Democratic primary for Michigan's 7th Congressional District. Brink left her post in protest of Trump’s policies in April and is now looking to unseat GOP Rep. Tom Barrett. "It's important to fight for democracy at home," she tells NYT.

What are some good orgs for trans youth that could use some donations on this awful day? Reply below.

We're covering this tonight on the show

Rep. Lisa McClain spreads braindead conspiracy theories about the 2020 election: "Here's the thing for me -- you're telling me that more people vote for Joe Biden than Obama. Really?!"

It never ends. Please stop this.

CNBC - A company owned by President Trump announces it own branded Trump Mobile cell phone service and will sell a "T1" smartphone, featuring gold-colored metal case etched with an American flag. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/16/trump-mobile-phone-plan.html

Essential point in this exchange with @willsommer.bsky.social: Trump-Miller have to target noncriminals for deportation because it's the only way to get the numbers they need to try for "full-scale ethnic change." Terror is central to this. Will is very good here: newrepublic.com/article/1968...

this is obviously something to take seriously but i am also struck by how the white house’s only move is to double down, no matter how unpopular or politically disastrous it might be

This is good, @padilla.senate.gov. But an opportunity was missed. Every D should be saying all over the shows that Trump has lost the public on deportations of noncriminals, that he admitted deportations hurt economy and that he's diverting resources from dangerous criminals. @kenmartin.bsky.social

What happened to Senator Padilla is an escalation of this administration’s intimidation tactics. Fire the civil service. Threaten to imprison judges. Handcuff senators who ask questions. Will any Republican speak up for our democracy?

A right-winger -- a registered Republican, a Trump voter, an evangelical anti-abortion activist -- assassinates a Democratic official. Republicans respond by blaming the left. Democrats respond by blaming ... no one.

Multiple law enforcement sources have told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS a traffic stop at a convenience store located near Onamia late Saturday morning involved a vehicle which was carrying Boelter's wife, as well as three other relatives.

“Two sources tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the vehicle contained a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports. However, to our knowledge, no one has been arrested—just questioned.”

“God is reaching out to you [to] find[] the ways that we may be able to do something with our own lives to serve others. “And in that service to others we may find that coming together in friendship, building up community, we too can find true meaning in our lives.” www.osvnews.com/full-text-ad...

A practical and chilling thread from a journalist who was just deported from the US for reporting on student protest.

Padilla on Noem: "How does the cabinet secretary not know the senator from California when she steps foot into Los Angeles? She came through the Senate for confirmation."

Poor Taco. The world showed up for #NoKings, but no one came to his small-in-the-pants “perade”.

We should've made a bigger national crisis of someone breaking into Nancy Pelosi's home & trying to kill her husband. But then, we should've made a bigger national crisis about hundreds of someones breaking into the Capitol & trying to steal an election. But then, we should've done lots of things.

For nearly a decade, since Election Day 2016, the media and politicians have had a choice: Recognize that we were in a crisis like no other in our lifetimes, or pretend that we aren't. Nearly all politicians, and too many in the media, have chosen the latter.

Take a close look at how Vance and Trump have been talking about going to war in the past 24 hours. Vance: “We never ask you to go to war unless you absolutely have to” Trump: “It’s possible we could get involved”

BRENNAN: Why strike on Thursday night? COTTON: As President Trump said, he gave Iran 60 days to make a deal, and that was day 61 BRENNAN: And then he scheduled talks on day 63. You know that. This wasn't really a hard deadline.

I’d buy every one of these books

How many reporters are currently working on tell-all exposés about their own organization, detailing all the acts of cowardice of their editors and publishers? I won’t ever buy your book about Sleepy Joe Biden, but I’d absolutely devour a book about the internal collapse of the NYT or CNN.

Datapoint: Chuck Schumer not posting once about yesterday’s protests before they happened, then spending the evening posting over and over about how important they were and how proud he was to attend.

Thank you for your attention to this matter! #NoKings

According to the latest WaPo/Schar School poll, Trump’s handling of deportations has 37% approval, 52% disapproval. And Quinnipiac has it at 40% approval, 56% disapproval. But @facethenation.bsky.social insists “public approval is so high on deportation.”

Who could possibly have foreseen this? /s TACO.

here’s the moment LASD advanced on protestors with horses and used flash-bangs as we reported live yesterday. www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp-vi...

Remember when Nancy Polisi’s husband was assaulted with a hammer by a Trump supporter? And the traitor joked about it? And then the press found a way to normalize it? That’s why we’re here.

@meidastouch.com Bishop, CA

We weren’t protesting the Army.

Be highly skeptical of online claims that the individual who attacked Democrats was one himself. A quick look at his online activity, his comments, the accounts he followed, suggests otherwise.

Across the country, our coalition members are holding candlelight vigils to honor the victims and their families. We’ll end the night with drinks, but right now, prayers come first. If you want to join us, put a candle out on your front porch.

So to recap: This week, MAGA claimed June 7th somehow is the day before June 11th, the right-wing, Christian nationalist, anti-abortion, registered Republican, Trump voter who shot Democratic lawmakers is actually “far left,” and Trump’s tiny parade magically drew 250,000 people.

One person was shot at the protest in Salt Lake City and is currently in critical condition. One individual is in custody. Please keep the victim in your prayers.

One last post tonight: 34 arrests were made today involving MAGA individuals. Thank you to everyone who helped keep watch.

I'm a human rights lawyer. If you're exercising your human right to protest on June 14, here are 13 rules I recommend you follow. No paywall. Free access. Please do read and share: www.qasimrashid.com/p/13-rules-t...

U.S. Marines have detained a civilian for the first time on the streets of Los Angeles, where President Trump ordered them to guard a federal building. The civilian, an Army veteran, said he was on his way to a VA office inside the building. www.reuters.com/world/us/us-...
