3/3 Visitors to the botanic gardens simply need to show their bike helmet, or a photo with their bike taken at the entry gates, to claim the discount. Once inside, visitors can explore Kew’s incredible living plant collections on foot.

2/3 The national #CleanAirDay scheme aims to spread information about air pollution and make the air cleaner and healthier for everyone. Kew are encouraging visitors to arrive by bicycle instead of cars to help towards reducing air pollution.

While you sadly won't spot any camels along the route (the name comes from the Cornish "Dowr Kammel" meaning "crooked river") it's a great place to spot otters, bats, kingfishers and more! Find out more πŸ‘‡ www.sustrans.org.uk/find-a-route...

The almost completely traffic-free trail follows the route of an old railway line and is ideal for a family cycle, as it's fairly level all the way.

🧡 3/4 But according to our recent Children's Walking and Cycling Index, almost half of children surveyed (48%) think the government isn't doing enough to help children to play and socialise outdoors. We want this to change.

🧡 2/4 Through play, children learn to forge connections with others, build a wide range of leadership skills, develop resilience, navigate relationships and social challenges, and conquer their fears. Play helps children to thrive in a rapidly changing world."

For any history lovers, along the path you can also find the Abbott's Cliff Sound Mirror (pictured), which was used during WWI to detect enemy aircraft. πŸ›© Have you explored this route before? Route details here πŸ‘‡ buff.ly/tfuudyT

The Chalk and Channel Way joins the ports of Dover and Folkestone, with fantastic views across to France on clear days β˜€ Despite going along the clifftop, the gradients along the 14km tarmac route are mostly gentle, making it a great option for people of all abilities.

Thank you Philip and Gary, for all your hard work! πŸ™Œ
comment in response to post
Sometimes, to save time particularly in Winter with early sunsets, Gary would be en route to the next signpost whilst Philip was still recording the work undertaken on a signpost.

Philip and Gary developed a very efficient way of working, with Gary leading on route planning and navigating and doing most stickering work, and Philip recording on the Survey123 app, including uploading photographs.

Did you know that walking for just 30 minutes or cycling for 20 minutes on most days can reduce the risk of premature death by at least 10%? The benefits are clear, so lets amplify this message. What can you do to support? πŸ€”πŸ‘‡
