Most of my days are without seeing others. I find life to be much more enjoyable when I am only around nature and my wife. I get most of my social interaction here on BS with you and my other friends. Life is GOOD! Happy Day!

It is awesome that you found a zoo that will accommodate you. The musky smell is always the strongest after a good rain. Happy Say, friend!

There is a distinct musky scent that the elk have. Matter of fact, I can always tell where they bed down, not only from the depression but the smell. I find that when I travel, I miss the scent of elk. Happy Day, friend!

It really is like walking along the beach, except with no water. The first thing we do when we arrive is take our shoes and socks off, so we can feel the gypsum between our toes. Magic. Happy Day, friend!

Felt good to stretch our legs...

I feel that, my friend. For me, it is a little more nuanced. I do not like trophy hunters. At all. However, if someone needs to hunt so their family can survive, I am actually not against it. I hope you have a fantastic day, friend.

The good news is that it is illegal to fire a weapon within 150 yards of a home. Our neighborhood, in which the elk live and roam, has 105 homes, so as long as they stay nearby, they are safe. Come hunting season, they always stay close, they know.

We try to attend a few times each season. It is so much fun, my friend! I highly recommend it.

We have about 100 or so elk that roam freely around our property and our neighbors. Our first night in this house, we woke up to the entire crew surrounding our house. They had bedded down for the night. That was such a warm welcome. Happy Day, friend, and thanks for sharing your story.

No, though we did visit Gig Harbor back in 23', and made a ton of happy memories. I live in the Sacramento Mountains in southern New Mexico. Happy Day, friend!

Hahaha, it isn't so much the traffic, but the noise. The other day, Robin had to listen to someone playing their radio on full blast. Most of the stores appreciate tourists. That is their main bread and butter. Sound carries quite a distance up here, most visitors dont realize.

Good Morning, friend! Unreasonably so. Past few days, been waking up to lower 30s. Thank goodness no frost. Afternoon, the temps have been in the upper 70s. Talk about mother nature being confused. It is taking my Geraniums a little longer to become acclimated this year. Happy Day, my friend!

We live in elk and deer country. Iris is the one flower up here they don't like to eat. With that said, if they get hungry enough, they will eat anything. Mid winter, it is not uncommon to see the elk on their hind legs, eating pine needles from the Ponderosa trees. Happy Day, friend!

Oh my goodness. I am glad to read you guys are ok. That certainly had to be a bit scary. For us, it is the ever danger of a forest fire. Over the weekend, we had several that the firefighters were able to extinguish. One big one is still going on at Ft Stanton. Historical site. From a campfire.

🤣🤙 I've been there, and done that, my friend. Hahaha, have a goodn'!

Mornin ', friend! I agree! One of our favorite past times, is to sit and cloud watch. The skies in NM are simply amazing. Happy Day!

Yea, we built that a few years ago for the ducks to have a safe place to lay their eggs. Eddie and company have taken it over since then. I agree. It could use some freshening up though.

Good Morning, my friend! I took this last year at our upper pond. It is near where Eddie, the turtle, lives. Pictures of Eddie are from a couple of weeks ago. Have a fantastic day!

Good Morning, my friend. This is right behind the bigger pond, where the elk like to fill their bellies with water, with a view to the east. 2 decades, and it still hasn't gotten old yet. Have a fantastic day!
