2/3 to 3/4 done (cont): *takes a 1-2 hour break doing nothing important or valuable*
*finally gets back to it*

I can ask the speakers "what's my location" and they all answer correctly except the damn bedroom one. I absolutely don't understand this, and neither does my Android developer husband who works closely w Google services.
I tried saying "set my location to X city" and it says "lol wut" 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Some people find asmr very off putting, but if it doesn't weird you out, there are a ton of asmr creators who read stories. WhispersRed has a wonderful voice, and here she reads The Velveteen Rabbit.

If you search "asmr reading a book" you may be able to find longer reads.

Political cartoonists have long drawn our Founding Fathers in compromising positions. Is that inappropriate because some of them are on our currency?
The fun thing about art is it's supposed to make you feel things, and disagreement w the message doesn't invalidate its existence 🙂

Idk I don't think she'd mind someone drawing an image of her flipping off the current administration. Especially considering the US Sec of Defense is suggesting that Tubman wasn't enough of a warrior to name a DOD ship after her:

(it's an oil ship btw, not a warship.)

I always say "BYE-oh-pick." The way I say bio when it's short for biography, and pic when it's short for picture. I've heard film people say "bye-AH-pick" and I'm always like ??? What does it stand for in your mind??

I learned this lesson a bit younger, but only bc of the song "Prima Donna" in Phantom of the Opera. How can this song be about Madonna if it took place well before she was born??? 😆

(within reason of course, some customers definitely do abuse ppl in the service industry. But the base expectation that a cashier acknowledge a customer within seconds of being approached is definitely not an abusive one & ignoring customers shouldn't be tolerated by employers.)

Young culture having a different norm is totally ok but it is NOT acceptable to be working a job in customer service & fail to acknowledge a potential customer. Call me a Boomer, but when you're working a job, your personal comfort zone doesn't matter, you step up & do your job.

Right, as if she should have known that Helen's dad died in an F5 and therefore the entire subject is entirely taboo to this group of SCIENTISTS 😅
OH I forgot 3) (which deserves my #1 spot) "I gotta go sweetie, we got cows!!" my mom quoted that line any time we had notably high winds.

The Day After Tomorrow was my favorite for a while. I grew up in MI, so when they draw the line on the map I was always like "Oh no I'm dead!!" but then I moved to MD and I watched it after moving and I was like "Oh boy I might survive!"

My favorite parts of Twister:
1) the tornado sounding like a dinosaur while ripping through the drive-in movie playing Jurassic Park
2) "who are these people?!" when they see a bunch of sharp farming equipment in... a barn on a really big farm 🤣

The vibe the Dems are giving off lately is "we don't care either, but we're gonna talk about being mad about your death." They're doing so little to fight the current admin, so little to reach out to the youth the way the Right is. It's depressing af.

So if you're on social media, doesn't that make you an ignorant asshole, too? 🤣 Gotta love people who sit in a crowd and judge everyone for being in that crowd!

Maybe.... Give that attitude... To people who think this post is real...??? Instead of belittling everyone who thinks it's a cool piece of fiction?

You realize that you continually interacting with people in these replies is just boosting the original post's engagement, which is making the algorithm show it to more people because it's popular. You're helping a thing you hate by trying to get others to hate it too 🙂👍

Movies put the "this is a work of fiction" disclaimer way at the bottom of 6 mins of credits that only about 0.1% of audiences watch all the way through. Nobody is saying "the disclaimer should be in the 1st 5 seconds bc people are gullible."

Art is allowed to exist without saying "HEY! THIS IS ART! I'M NOT TELLING THE TRUTH HERE!"
Like the bio saying "photoshop" should be enough of a disclaimer. It doesn't need to be added to every single post just bc "some people are gullible"

The study ran as long as it took me to lose the wt - if I was slower to lose, they'd have followed me for longer.
Just sucks that still being in a calorie deficit is maintenance now. They took my RMR 3 mos after the wt loss, still a bit over 1600 cal/day, yet eating 1400 doesn't help me lose.

Can confirm. My husband loses weight when he says out loud "I think I should stop drinking and eat more vegetables." I gain weight when I think about a brownie.

I've had the gall to allow myself 1400 cal/day instead of the aggressive 1200 during the study & I guess that's my problem even though they measured my RMR and it's almost 1700 cal/day PLUS I'm burning 200-400 when I exercise. I thought I learned abt my metabolism during the study, but I guess not.

UGH SAME. I lost 20 lb in 6 mos while participating in a wt loss research study. I was eating my own, whole foods for all but for first 4 weeks. The minute the study ended, I stopped losing wt. Still calorie tracking, still working out 4-5 days/wk.

1) this is a smokescreen, he wants to distract us from all the authoritarian shit his regime is pulling
2) As if he didn't pay musicians to perform at his rallies??????? Wtaf??? His hypocrisy is mind-bendingly ridiculous, and it somehow gets bigger every day.

Also at 5'1", I love it when dresses are shown on 5'10" models. Mini dresses that barely go 3" down their thighs will hit me at my knees, which is my preferred length. All miniskirts automatically becoming midi length on me is my dream 😍
