What if student journalists all began every piece with a ritual incantation: "Our Trump, who art in the White House, hallowed be thy name?"

Lost in all this is the fact that what we need in the United States is a vast increase in immigration. The issues with our economy, social security, Medicare, and all the rest will be easier to deal with if we have many more people contributing to society.

I believe the correct word is "Xits."

Thank you for the simple explanation!

@ufw.bsky.social how are the ICE raids affecting farm workers in California and elsewhere? How are people coping?

I understand and appreciate the distinction. I also don't support those things. But it's important to note that Trump and Netanyahu are each the head of their nations' governments, so they represent the official position of each country.

The United States and Israel are both united now in pushing the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and probably also of the West Bank.

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social Deny unanimous consent for everything and vote against cloture for each nominee.

So glad to hear this.

@pattymurray.bsky.social Shut down the Senate. Deny unanimous consent for everything. Slow everything down now.

Shut down the senate. Don't offer unanimous consent for anything, and make them vote on each step. Every day that goes by is a chance some news will break to change the dynamic.

The Times' writing (aside from all the criticisms of their news slant these days) is awful. We teach high school students to write college admissions essays, and the Times is the perfect counter-example: writing to obscure the truth rather than revealing it.

And if payments to Lutheran organizations are not made, isn't that also a claim for violating the first amendment, since this claim is being denied specifically because of their religion?

Government employees are immune from civil lawsuits for doing their jobs, but Elon musk and Mike Flynn are not federal employees, and this isn't their job. Can't someone file a massive class action lawsuit against them personally to claim damages? 1/2

All our tax refunds this year may depend on whether Musk likes us. Nothing to prevent him from saying that people with certain last names will not get refunds, or people who live in Blue states will not get them, or anything else, really. It's illegal, but a prosecution would come from Trump's DOJ.

@wyden.senate.gov shut down the Senate. Stop writing letters, for God's sake.

Democrats are really missing an opportunity to repeatedly use the phrase "he will turn the FBI into the Kashtapo."

Senator @schumer.senate.gov, you can do something about this. Go on the Senate floor and announce you will oppose all requests for unanimous consent and motions for cloture. Say you will ask your Democratic colleagues to oppose every Trump nominee until this is pulled. You have power to fight this.

How can we collaborate to create a list of these failed predictions? There should be a record - for history, if nothing else.

I don't know what the concern is. His conduct perfectly models the character and standards of behavior conservatives expect of their leaders. Only woke liberals oppose drunkenness at work, spousal abuse, and the appointment of utterly unqualified people to top leadership positions.

This means, I think, that couples in the u.s on h1 or f1 visas, for example, who have children here will not be entitled to have the child get American citizenship documents.

@kamalahqrepeater.bsky.social ran a good campaign and lost a close election. But the story didn't speak to enough Americans. Too many damn consultants. They let people forget how awful a President trump was. And there's a justified perception of weakness in the way Biden dealt with Netanyahu.

2/2 It was a big endorsement of India's first non-Congress party government. Carter's passing marks the end of an era, when America stood for democracy, decency, and the world's advancement.

It's a colonization or imperial takeover, not an "expansion." Expansion is what's happened to Trump's waistline over the years.

This is a question of basic autonomy and freedom. Even people who disagree with Democrats will respect them if they stand up and fight for their beliefs. Few things hurt the Democrats as much as the often true belief that they are afraid of a fight.

Yes, they need to say, "Republicans are waging war on America at King Elon's direction. Americans will die as a result." But of course, they have to talk "bipartisanship, blah blah blah "

Just say no and lay blame. "We negotiated this in good faith with the Republicans, and we are done. We will not vote yes on anything else. If the government shuts down, this is Elon and Trump's shutdown."

Say it over and over again, "Elon Musk ordered Trump and the Republicans to shut down the government. He's the Grinch Who Stole Christmas."

Just say no, @repdonbeyer.bsky.social. Just say no, and say, over and over again, #Trump/ElonShutdown.
