I forgot you guys did Suspiria! Which always reminds me about how Kunihiko Ikuhara (Sailor Moon R and S, Revolutionary Girl Utena) *heavily* homaged it for his 2015 series Yurikuma Arashi:

This. The donors that run the Dem party don’t want the same things the people want. Donors want lower taxes and steady returns. People want their government to provide them roads, schools, accountability for police, universal healthcare, etc.

In an alternate universe, Goku landed in the Home for Infinite Losers, because you can't say Hell on UPN.

Awareness of what our methodology can and cannot do is fucking underwater, arrogance about our superiority capacity for thought is in the stratosphere. We are experts at thinking 😌 (people believe this.)

This is it exactly. The fact that consultants and centrist-thirsty donors crushed the life out of the Harris campaign illustrates the point. Tim Walz unleashed was a strong foil vs JD Weirdo. Harris could have been stronger against weirdo Trump had they not told her to moderate (into oblivion).

It feels like Dems have learned the wrong lesson from T. What feels “authentic” and “strong” is the ability to lean into his opinions especially when there’s blowback. Imagine if the Dems applied that w vigor to economic policies that are actually popular w voters like low cost quality healthcare.

no amount of substantive moderation will help you if you seem like a weenie and, vice versa, someone who codes as independent can get away with a few out-of-the-mainstream positions because they *reinforce the idea that you're independent and not beholden to anyone*

successful candidates cannot be too far afield of public opinion but it is actually more important than they demonstrate a strong sense of independence and self-possession. poll-testing selects for people who CANNOT DO THIS

trump is instructive: his perceived moderation from swing voters is as much or more about affect and perceived independence as it is specific positions.

HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT, published in 2020, lays out the plans that Trump is enacting now. It gives the background of the transnational crime syndicate behind this agenda and its accomplices in the US. It was a bestseller and there have been many attempts to ban it. www.hidinginplainsightbook.com

“It must be remembered that the white group of laborers... received a public and psychological wage. They were given public deference." We're approaching a century since W.E.B. Du Bois wrote that.

here in california we directly elect offices like "insurance commissioner." this has not, to say the least, resulted in a good insurance market here. many jursidictions have direct elections for the water board! It's absurd.
