It’s Friday it’s nearly 5pm IST… it’s got to be, rattle the markets time…

New game: Where’s Wally but with Trump posts. Find the truth in this.

Shocking lack of parliamentary scrutiny on trade deals means UK seems on brink of signing this with Gulf States without publishing a human rights impact assessment or securing binding commitments on labour rights, environment or animal welfare standards. Yet more #BrokenPromises

Fuck you and your illegal settlements, Israel. FUCK YOU www.lemonde.fr/en/internati...

Looking at this, I feel as if I’m in a nightmare.

It's absolutely correct for @paulmurphy.pbp.ie to say that the real cause of TB is industrial farming dairy expansion... not badgers! www.thejournal.ie/dail-call-to...

Reform should never appear on TV without a fact checker. And they should never be able to try & rubbish climate action without someone saying 92% of their external donations came from fossil fuel & climate denying companies. Party for the billionaires. Fact check below from @desmog.com

I have to say I think Labour are making a mistake in constantly holding press conferences which just invites the media to quote Nigel Farage in articles. They would do better to promote the more universally welcomed policies that Farage isn't interested in.

I blame the Aliens 👽 🛸…done your crop circle?…what’s next?

The latest “net zero beef” claim comes from the McDonald's funded study of UK FAI farms. It's based on selective modeling from just 3 of 105 fields, with flaws like shifting sample sites, missing bulk density data & uncounted carbon from imported hay The methods are questionable, also see motives🧵

The take away from this is surely that the North Eastern English regional identity is almost as strong as that of Wales, an *actual country*?

🧵1/ The EPA’s latest GHG projections show Ireland is far off track to meet its legally binding carbon budgets. Even with optimistic assumptions, emissions are projected to fall just 23% by 2030—less than half the 51% target. www.irishtimes.com/environment/...

The government has FROZEN ALL DECISIONS for Syrians applying for asylum or settlement for nearly 6 months😱😱😱 Roughly 7,000 people left in limbo & denied the right to work - this is completely INSANE.

“That they can be ‘disappeared’ in such an arbitrary manner is chilling and sets a worrying precedent for the proper functioning of our news reporting. The job of British journalists has just been made much harder.”

Bernie Saunders in Cork, Ireland, warning Europeans that what is happening in the USA is coming to Ireland & the rest of Europe soon. He's right. The UK with brexit has, arguably, already fallen. A quick 🧵

I’ve signed a joint letter with Lib Dem MPs calling for Thames Water to become a public benefit company. After today’s £122m fine, enough is enough. Newbury’s rivers have paid the price. It’s time to clean up the mess. #ThamesWater #Newbury #ChalkStreams

The global realignment continues.

Nothing like a world on fire to remind Europeans that, for all its flaws, the EU isn’t such a bad place to be — especially for the many small and few medium-sized countries whose sovereignty it amplifies.

I’ll save you the trouble reading the FT analysis on Farage’s economic policies. In a nutshell: it’s bollocks on.ft.com/3ZBMhnD

Thames Water hit with record £123m fine. Beware of the OFWAT spin. £104.5m fine for sewage dumping was announced on 6 Aug 2024. £18.2m fine for breach of dividend rules was announced on 19 Dec 2024. Companies allowed to negotiate fines. Can't end abuses without ending the profit motive

You can fine water companies as much as you like, but customers are still on the hook for their reckless debts. Time for Steve Reed to put Thames Water in special measures. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

This should be the final nail in the coffin for Thames Water. It needs to be turned into a public benefit company and Ofwat needs to be scrapped and replaced with a real regulator with teeth. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Surely the time to celebrate the £123 million Thames Water fine would be when the company directors are the ones being fined, paying for it, and not the customers, the public? @mrjamesob.bsky.social
