Yes, I've heard it has gotten better, but still, why gamble if I can just go with AMD and don't have to worry about it.
Plus I don't want to support Nvidia for driving the GPU prices up so much. It's just ridiculous at this point.

I will go with mint, a friend is using it and is happy with it. I also hear everywhere that it's supposed to be an easy beginner distro where you don't have to mess around much.
I also make sure to buy an AMD GPU for a smooth experience, heard that Nvidia is sometimes problematic on Linux.
