Bond: Shaken, not stirred. Q: I don't recommend that, James.

This implies an entire bar's worth of beverage-themed improvised munitions. What's it called when the bottle has homemade napalm in it, or biohazards, or radioactive material? If the bottle bounces and doesn't break, is that a virgin cocktail?

Make sure none of them are crimes that people we *don't* want to arrest are already blatantly doing. We wouldn't want to be accused of hypocrisy!

No doubt.

'Back' for 'Advance' is such a simple joke but I really appreciate that it's there.

It sure is a good thing there's no one else at this public(?) pool who might express concern about a woman's lower half on the diving board they were about to use for diving.

And if someone *is* actually "lying on a couch all day"... clearly, that's not someone who's doing okay, yes? Mentally well people don't do that.

They both appear to have simply fainted. If her hand wasn't behind Amos' head when he tumbled backwards, I fear for his noggin.

A universal impulse, I'm sad to say. Even here in Canada, I recently had to hear my (normally very compassionate!) mother insist that she, personally, knows a woman who "just lies on the couch all day" and therefore shouldn't receive taxpayer-funded dental care for her children.

Imagining they're the same guy, standing uncomfortably close as you struggle with an oversensitive scale insisting that there's an unexpected item in the bagging area, cradling three hams in the crook of either elbow. "Heh, don't mind me, just gotta weigh these *bananas* for the boss. Wink!"

I like how the powerups are apparently different vocalizations.

Honestly, yes. Jonathan Creek is an incredible show.

The only reason to "embrace" Musk is because he's rich, powerful, and has a fan base. Yes, those things can help you win. But why win if the only thing you want is to win?

I blame Reagan for terminating America's conversion to the metric system.

*nods sagely* We've all been there, brother.

...but, during the time I was in bed, the world's richest asshole and the world's most powerful asshole apparently started fighting. Feels like a benevolent sign that I get to do something more self-indulgent today.

SO! After this week of birthday merriment, I'm doing something I haven't done in ages. One more attempt at streaming. I'll make sure to make an announcement on the whens and wheres!

It's purely because they're trying to follow Trump's lead, and Trump was trying to tank the US Postal Service purely because he thought it'd help him win an election if there were fewer mail-in ballots. That's how short-sighted this all is.

"Hey, you know what'll REALLY help cement our position as the party that (don't worry, bigots!) no longer pretends to give a shit about trans kids?"

It's the ultimate end of all this chase-the-median-voter strategy. Win by becoming the same as the team that's currently winning, up to and including recruiting their team members.

Don't like the song, wait four minutes. Don't like the season, wait four weeks. Don't like American policy, wait four years.

The scene where the Terminator finds the phonebook and rips out the page with "Sarah Connor" on it would not have been better if the viewer could pause the movie and read every other name in the phonebook.

Imagine making millions upon millions of dollars, and devoting 95% of it to a single social cause that can meaningfully change the world. Imagine looking at climate change, poverty, racism, anti-war, anti-fascism... and, instead, picking THAT.

*THAT'S* why they hid Luke with Anakin's brother Owen - it *WASN'T* incredibly bad storytelling and/or an incredibly stupid strategic move, it was the one place he'd never return to to check! Because he hates sand so much!

In much the same way that some people understand that "this is good" and "this is evil" can be used to mean "I like this and want to force other people to help it" and "I don't like this and want it to fail, but don't want to be held responsible for making it fail", respectively.
