It’s like Carney brought his kid to work and let him ramble on in front of his coworkers just to please the kid. Stepping in every once in a while to correct a statement.

What can the SCOTUS do the make sure the MAGA Admin is following the courts orders. From Canada, it seems there is nothing the courts can do.

He gave Canada a seat at the grown-ups table - and a hand on the lever that could shake the globally economy if it came to that. Trump may talk tough, but he is sinking the market. Mark Carney has a skill to move market.

As of early 2025: foreign countries hold $8.53 trillion in US debt. Canada alone hold over $350 billion of it. So tell me again - who is really getting the free ride? Carney didn’t just issue US bonds and go on a publicity tour in Europe.

So, as Trump was busy yelling at NATO Alice like Canada were “delinquent” - he was ignoring the fact that Canada, along with Japan, China, France, and other others, it’s literally financing in the US government, including its trillion dollar military.

Basically: heard us and we will hurt you. That’s not noise that’s financial deterrence. That’s global respect after that. Trump learned how to say “Prime Minister” which has me thinking, Mark Carney, indeed handed Trump a Trump card!

🇨🇦 coordinated act of off-loading US treasury bonds and 🇨🇦 not in panic. In precision. Then Mark Carney and Trump finally spoke, and I believe Carney laid it out clearly to Trump: if Canada dumps its US bonds, we won’t be alone. Others will follow - and the US dollar will drop like a rock

After reading in fact, checking a friend post this morning, I learned a bit more: that Carney’s stop in the EU was no photo. He was meeting with Keith foreign economic players, laying the groundwork for what needed to happen if things went off the rails due to Trump:

And I believe I was missing the bigger picture in an earlier post saying it was to protect our economy. Carney‘s move wasn’t just to safeguard or economy! It was a strategy, it was leverage! And it was brilliant (I’ll be at Bo economics analysis to read through!)

This is so indicative of Trump’s presidency. It drives me loco knowing that people still believe that he is a good business man.

This was a big fuck up. This wasn’t “I forgot to pay the rent”, this mistake could have gone really really bad and we still don’t know the ramifications from this mistake. Pete H should do the honourable thing and resign. Coward!

I travel to the US quite regularly for my work as we have offices in the US and in Canada. I will not be going to the US for the foreseeable future because I don’t want to end up in a prison in El Salvador.
