It sits badly when the stupid behaviour of two men is then likened to women or girls.

The betrayal of the young is almost complete. I hope this incentivises them to vote in every election in their lifetime and getting involved in politics.

It is also possible they were not bright/dedicated enough to enter proper negotiations, and with nothing to lose on a personal level, why bother trying?

They are not wrong.

I thought for a second it was the skewed work life balance which was breaking society, however its likely me, with my "stranger" ways which is adding stress to communities. Soz 😬.

Wasn't he a Brexit supporter?

The "take back control" and "island of strangers" lines have done it for me.

Its a disgraceful line. As someone who benefited from Free Movement, studied and worked in UK and married a British man, who was a stranger to me, it pains me to see this type of speech from a UK prime minister.

I d be happy with them not using it as a tool to excuse their bad management and as a way to get a headline.

I was linked to this article on another thread, however this creates more questions for me www.unison.org.uk/news/press-r...

What about the Unions..what are they saying? are they into this rhetoric?
comment in response to post
Equivalent to smashing the gangs. Unfortunately Labour sound more like they are demonising individuals and migration itself, rather than the way groups take advantage of desperate migrants.

What do the main Unions in the UK have to say about this?

I live in Spain, British husband , we d like to go back for a few years. I LOVED living in UK in the 90s and was so hoping this change of government was going to start something akin to that era. Instead there is this nausea inducing parallel universe politicians are creating. Vile.

As I turned the radio on he said "taking back control" ..Arrrgggg...😩 and now he said it again..

It also validates the idea that politics is totally disconnected to people s day to day lives, instead it gives credence to the reality created by headlines and viral videos. Brexit is the best example, even people I know who voted for it regret it, but government wont admit it. Its bizarre.

Volunteering at a dog shelter in Spain, we got brought a dog, skinny, malnourished, who had been sprayed with petrol and set alight. First thing the poor creature did was lick our hands. It broke my heart in a million pieces 💔.

I m not sure they didn't appreciate the value of the tree, they drove all the way to get to it specifically. On some level they knew what they were doing.

Still harbouring sex offenders, still condemning women to secondary roles, still making ostentatious displays of wealth, still berating others sexual preferences, still spouting piety, still denouncing women's rights, still manipulating, hard to believe it could have somehow been worse!

I m not religious, but very relived they have chosen not to go back to strict conservatism.
