A bit more of the veteran 42-100882 Drag 'em Oot, a C-47A-75-DL Skytrain which saw service on D-Day and in Operation Garden, damage from which is still in evidence all over the airframe with patch repairs visible all over the forward fuselage. The aircraft carries its authentic D-Day markings.

Two Jet Provost T.3s at North Weald on Monday. On the left is XN637 / G-BKOU in 3 FTS livery, while on the right is XN459 / G-BWOT in the livery of the Central Flying School's Red Pelicans display team.

Scottish Aviation Bulldog T.1 XX624 at the North Weald Fly-in. The aircraft was built in 1974, and it flew with the Royal Air Force until 2001 and has since been registered as G-KDOG.

Westland-Bell 47G-4A G-MASH at The Squadron Fly-in & Ground Show at North Weald on Monday. Nice to finally see this very local helicopter up close!

Always a stunner, Sally B at the North Weald Fly-in yesterday, and certainly drew a big crowd as the star of the show.

North Weald Fly-in today, lovely way to spend the day, despite the brief showers.

45690 Leander arriving at North Weald on the Epping Ongar Railway during last year's steam gala. The locomotive's visit to the EOR was to be Leander's last steaming before overhaul.

Snow leopard at Banham Zoo today

North American TB-25N Mitchell 44-30861 at the Wings Aviation Museum, undergoing a static restoration to represent a Dunsfold-based Mitchell III of 98 Squadron RAF.

Bob Grimstead is preparing for his display at @stowmariesgwa.bsky.social Propwash last year. This weekend is their Wings & Wheels event, though I sadly won't be there, I wish them the best!

Been a fair few years since I last saw GT3s on track, and the cars have certainly changed a fair bit since then. The majority at Brands Hatch were McLaren 720S GT3s, with the Paddock Motorsport Number 10 car proving rather dominant on Sunday.

SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1B XX108 and BAe Sea Harrier F/A.2 ZA175, which will be trading places soon, as the Sea Harrier will return to Duxford from its loan at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, with the Jaguar taking its place at Flixton.

Brands Hatch yesterday, will be back in a couple of week's time for the Historic. In the meantime, enjoy a Clio Cup car lifting a wheel!

Yesterday's Twilight Taxi Run of Avro Vulcan B.2 XL426 at Southend Airport, always an impressive sight, and an even more impressive sound!

A fairly unknown corner of Duxford is the Aircraft Restoration Company's Stephenson Hangar, which has a viewing gallery that can be accessed by going past AirSpace and through the little car park to the first building. Always interesting to pop by and see what's being worked on.

I can't resist an 'over-the-shoulder' shot of a warbird. This is Spitfire MH434 in Hangar 3 at Duxford. It looks like the old bird is longing for another dance in the skies, I think.

What a view! Staring out at Duxford (and the Catalina) from the visiting Douglas R4D-6S 50783 'Ready 4 Duty', well worth a visit if you are around Duxford in the next couple weeks.

Popped by Duxford this afternoon to see a rather special visitor: Douglas R4D-6S Skytrain 50783 'Ready 4 Duty' of the Commemorative Air Force during its 2025 Navy to Victory tour, visiting Europe in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied Victory in the Second World War.

Boeing C-17A Globemaster III 07-7185 arriving at RAF Mildenhall. 07-7185 first flew in 2009 and was delivered to the USAF that year. It is operated by the 437th AW which is based at Charleston AFB in South Carolina.

Well, heat haze ruined most of my photos at Southend today. Fortunately, the take-offs were okay, so have another shot of the lovely Lancaster B.I, PA474, as it departed Southend Airport after an overnight stay.

It's nearly the end of the day, and I haven't yet made a post for VE Day. Fortunately, the BBMF Avro Lancaster B.I, PA474 made an unexpected appearance over Chelmsford today, and the sight of the aircraft heading off into the sunset is about as fitting as you could get really.

A rare beast in the UK, for a number of reasons, Bell P-63 Kingcobra 44-4315 at the Wings Aviation Museum. This aircraft was recovered from the far east of Russia, having fought against Japanese forces in the final stages of the Second World War.

THe VE Day 80th Anniversary Flypast over Chelmsford

I just wanted to get some lunch and got distracted 😅

Inside the Gatwick Shackleton last year. A stunningly well kept example of the type, and an excellent tour if you're ever in the area. This example is Shackleton MR.3 WR982 and it is preserved in running condition.

There's nothing quite like a brake van ride, bouncing about, trying to keep balance and not fall over while exposed to the elements, and a little shunter growls away next to your head. What great fun!

45132 at the Epping Ongar Railway Spring Diesel Gala. It's always a pleasure to drop by 'The Beast' and check in on its progress. I was offered a chance at a tour, again, by owner Roger Bray which is well worth it, if you get the opportunity!

47635 Jimmy Milne at the Epping Ongar Railway Spring Diesel Gala, the largest operational diesel locomotive at the Epping Ongar Railway and as usual looks excellent paired with the resident blue & grey coaches.

Unable to take part in the EOR's Spring gala but nonetheless good to see was recent arrival DL82. An excellent addition to the railway and another appropriate nod to the line's Underground heritage.

British Rail Class 14 9529 at the Epping Ongar Railway Spring Diesel Gala. Visiting from the Nene Valley Railway was Class 14 9529, seen here with the EOR's Maroon Mark 1 coaches as it departs North Weald bound for Ongar.
