Yoy need to give the same answer than the Villeray Mayor. Public space taken by car: 75%. Public space taken by bike: 1%. If you double the space for bikes, there’s still 74% dedicated for the cars. Stop crying.

Exactly, honest working people paying their fair share of taxes are being deported…

Even if you make 100-150k, you will still beneficiate this cut. You are taxed 15% on your first 50k, then everything you make above is taxed differently. This is how tax brackets work. By reducing the lowest tax bracket, you impact every taxpayer.

I know all that because I was undocumented for few months during my immigration process by simply doing everything right. Undocumented are not dudes who jumped a fence to abuse the system like they want you to believe. 5/5

And you can’t quit your job or leave the country. If you do so, you lose your status completely, can’t get a job back or come back to the country until everything is in order. So you brace and lay low until it’s done. 4/*

But the fun part is that you can keep your job before losing your status. And you obviously still pay taxes. The government is not that dumb. So you are basically paying taxes for something you can’t have access to. Knowing that, everybody should want more undocumented people. 3/*

During that time, you don’t have access to any benefits. Whiwh another lie from the conservative. To « steal » the benefits from canadian citizens, well, you need to exist in the system, which is not the case since you don’t have a status anymore. 2/*

Let’s talk about undocumented immigrants also. Most of the time, to be undocumented, you simply need to send your papers on time, pay the fees and wait. Eventually, the government will take too long to treat your request and your temporary status will expire. 1/*

And of course you are not allowed to vote because you are not a citizen. Even if you are paying taxes, working hard and living here for years, you don’t get a voice to tell how you want to be governed.

All the steps and tests cost money. Becoming a citizen or even a permanent resident of Canada is a long and costly process, that can take between 6 to 10 years depending the path you chose. During this time, you might not have access to basic advantages such as healthcare.

Same for the physical and background check. I also needed to prove that I have at 3000$ on my bank account to sustain myself for three month. For Quebec, you need to prove that you speak French by passing an official test or by sending you french post-elementary education degree

Agree with that, I discarded EV because I can charge at home and there’s not enough public charger around. Charging time is a major roadblock for a lot of user, more than range.

A difference must be made between geographical Europe and European Union. For instance, Switzerland is in the middle of Europe but not part of the Union.

I’m wondering about the employees. If your hard work is burnt to the ground because of your clown CEO, why not storming the place before leaving somewhere else with all your skills and knowledge. Competition will be glad to hire experts on electric cars from Tesla.

They should be like a convention, like a comicon. With panels, where you meet people and exchange with them about different topic. Seeing a supercar from a distance behind a rope doesn’t make any sense when you can se any youtuber ripping it, allowing you to hear and see in detail the car.

You just describe a communication compromise: we switch to a common language to communicate. But opening borders didn’t turn Europe into one big anglophone country after 3 decades. And doing the same between US and Canada won’t do the same.

Legault uses a misplaced nationalism to gain some voters, but more free circulation might create the opposite. More people will become curious and learn to love Québec, exporting its culture and reinforcing it. Quite the opposite of assimilation.
comment in response to
post
I get your point but you simply can’t talk about assimilation here. Provinces of Canada have their own culture and identity, it’s not just about language. Having borders and economical agreement will just facilitate transit of people, not merge cultures together or make them disappear.
