It should be said that war, from the Stoic perspective, sometimes is the Just answer. We can read Leonidas Konstantakos on this: digitalcommons.fiu.edu/etd/4999/

In a way that Sagan (and all those who lamented, and still do, that the adventurous space-exploring spirit we once had has all but died) would understand: Elio is the best film Pixar has ever made. An absolute masterpiece deserving of nothing but praise.

I’ve been watching Elio for less than 5 minutes and I already know: it’s a masterpiece. #Elio #Pixar #Disney

This might be the best YouTube video cover I've ever made. #Stoicism

Well, that about says it all.

Rasmus, this is absolutely beautiful. What a terrific job you've done. I love the intricacy of the dust jacket contrasted with the muted simplicity of the embossing on the (what I assume to be) cloth cover. Again, beautiful!

But also, just to keep us all honest here, don’t assume the neighbor’s you disagree with can’t be right or that you can’t be wrong. We don’t want to show off our pursuit of virtue, but we also don’t want to think we can’t unintentionally pursue it wrongly or poorly.

Slight correction from those who care about the original text: “He often acts unjustly who does not do a certain thing; not only he who does a certain thing.” — Meditations 9.5

This is, INDEED, a hot take.

Imagine thinking Stoicism demands we don’t cry.

Just an empty theatre, me, and the Phoenician Scheme.

Family photo day last weekend. Truly happy with what was captured. Love my family so much.

👋 Hi. Public philosopher of Stoicism here. Marcus is conflating in this meditation. He’s (partially) wrong. It is possible not to trouble your soul with thing you cannot choose. This is correct. It is impossible not to have an opinion, position, or impression of something. I can expound later.

I'd like to invite Miklós to enable comments on his posts because they are good and I think they'd spur great conversations. This is worth a read. Enjoy it.

I can’t speak to CBT, but as a philosopher of Stoicism I can say that’s absolutely not what Stoicism instructs us to do.

I laughed.

I can see how someone could come to this conclusion — but at least one problem is that Eastern philosophy tends to have a heavy supernatural aspect to it, no?

I wonder how Seneca felt navigating the vice of Nero. Since men only do evil due to ignorance of moral goodness, I wonder how Nero thought about his behaviour. Likewise, I wonder how Noem has come to view something so vicious as appropriate. #Stoicism www.thedailybeast.com/kristi-noem-...
