Not all of them though. Like all peoples, there are those impoverished, and seek alternative lifestyles, even under extraordinary circumstances. Tona, the tall girl in the third image under the first post, was an ogre's accomplice that committed burglary and murder; and she was a demigod.

Lack of digits hinder their intelligence either. There's nothing to dull their curiosity and observational skills outside of the inconvenience of their wings. They don't mix well with fire and industrious things, but they tend to excel artistically; using longer utensils for their crafts and music.

If I had ever bothered to write out a story, harpies can range in height from 4 to 7 feet tall. Some have long necks, some don't. Some have more feathering than others and look less human. Instead of separating hands and wings, I keep them as the same limb with just a couple fingers. I don't let...

i've actually got something for this. i've got a harpy girl and i wanted her to wear clothing, so i did A LOT of thinking of how should could put on her own clothing depending on the type of body build my harpies have(she has 1 thumb/finger on ehr wings). easy to put on stuffs

What I am (re)learning from drawing this character is that, sometimes creating something is about compromising with one's self. I have to remind myself this pretty often.
My teacher always said, "Make mistakes and move on."
It's kind of fun though; learning how to blend human and avian anatomy.
