"Here's a guy offering to come into our campaign who was a central figure running a previous historic loss by our party. We should *definitely* be listening to what he has to say on this new campaign against the same opponent" says I guess everyone in DNC leadership.

When I lived in DC, I did not own a car for many years, but when I moved up to NH, it just wasn't possible to continue to do so anymore.

20 years ago kids were getting sued for a million dollars for downloading a few tracks off Napster, and now AI companies are crying poverty if they can't steal the entirety of human creation without having to pay any compensation.

Rest, and overmedicate the day of your travel and hope for the best. It sucks though. I hope you feel better!

Were they ever motivated by that? Of course they weren't. Nobody wakes up daily saying they're ready and excited to make money for billionaires in exchange for peanuts. Who is motivated by that if the powers that be aren't sharing the success?

Beyond just a refusal to acknowledge facts, I think there's also the modern ability to curate one's sources or news/opinion to only present their preferred untruths. It's not even a rejection of fact; in their world, those facts simply don't exist and nothing from outside can pierce that bubble.

And we're singing this song in my Gay men's chorus and I'm going have to fight to not sing these lyrics...

If my husband is gone and it's just me, paper plates 100%. Dishes are worth it only when there's multiple of us. Even then I'm skeptical....

To some degree it's true that people can make it big when they make a big life bet with a 10000x return. But when that <1% chance bet fails the average person is permanently ruined. Wealthy people can make 100 of them knowing one will pay out and the failures won't ruin them (see: venture capital).

Back when invites were required it was definitely a "Use your invites to bring other furries to Bluesky!" so it became like, waves of mass migration. The joy many furries had as they got an invite was a warming sight to behold.

Crystalis was SO GOOD. It is on Switch Online as well as I think the SNK collection and I was so happy to get to play it again.

Reminds me of 2008 when the law stated that a human being had to review and sign foreclosure documents for correctness, and it came out that many banks were using autopens because there were so many, and some that did do "human review" spent only minutes on each 50+ page document. With no penalty.

I had a neighbor when I was in graduate school that threw a "Britney Spears Is Turning 18 Party".
