Putting aside how fucked this is for people - it's gonna cripple tax collection too. People were, if not promised at least expected, that if they at least pay tax they'll be able to work out the immigration part sometime. Now they'll just pocket the money because it makes it WORSE paying tax.

Woh. What is it that you're finding? Guessing compared to X you're finding it problematic? I find that interesting because I had to leave X because it was a cesspool.
