“Abolish ICE” is the moderate position. Radical is “prosecute every ICE employee under RICO.”

The time has come to see this: with recent studies proving that most students use AI to "cheat" on their assignments, we can't deny that AI has broken the educational system. So what do we do? [a 🧵]

A horrible story but god bless this woman so accurately reading the ICE goons for filth here

This, from a woman in Oklahoma talking to her local news station, is better than the vast majority of political speeches you'll hear today.

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Oddly satisfying read this one. Recommended. defector.com/oh-shut-the-...

(Future tv ad for geriatric Gen Xers) Thom Yorke voice: Baby’s got Depends, oh no no..

RIP Kurt Vonnegut. Gone 18 yrs. Dang.

1. Yesterday I wrote a thread about the dire warnings from food professionals on the state of supply chains. Comfortable folk might find it impossible to imagine an end to the current abundance. But we'd better start imagining it fast. THIS thread is about solutions - false ones and sound ones.

The last time there was this much on-again off-again turmoil over tariffs in America, we revolted against the king over it — and won.

Is DOGE cutting the size of the federal government? No. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpNg...

we have to make expanding the supreme court a litmus test in the dem presidential primary season, theres no other choice

The list of the Top 100 restaurants in the Bay Area is now online!

I will quit my job and work for any candidate who promises to put the leadership of this administration in the same overseas gulag they've been shipping people to

We take tariffs on our beautiful Heard Island very seriously. We will be consulting all mammals and flightless birds and will make an announcement in the near future detailing our response. #heardisland #tariff #mcdonaldisland #trumptariff

"Should we do something? It feels like we should do something. Hopefully, I’ll feel more like I can dedicate the brain space to that just as soon as I finish my work, which is tuning this glockenspiel."

“There is no such thing as an ‘illegal immigrant’” My myth-busting piece for The Guardian today arguing that it is factually inaccurate & totally, utterly wrong to say that undocumented people are ‘illegal’ & are automatically ‘criminals’. I bring receipts:

It’s still hard to believe the simple fact that this is all self-imposed. Everything that’s happening right now wasn’t the result of some foreign adversary destroying the country. We did this all to ourselves by electing the dumbest motherfucker to ever rule a nation.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

Not to be Boomerish, but I do think one loss of the streaming age, is discovering older media through serendipity. The only reason I know about Tom and Jerry, The Looney Tunes, or any of those older toons is because they aired at random while I was watching TV. Now you have to seek them out.

If you were a halfway decent human being and you knew an innocent man was rotting in foreign prison—likely suffering nightmarish conditions—because your administration screwed up and send him there, you’d do something about it immediately instead of shitposting lies all day.

there aren't any words for how much I hate the people doing this. I wish every harm upon them, it is right and just to pray for such harm

Whenever I hear people "moderates" talk about being in-between 2 "extremes", it really bothers me. Because I don't see it that way. I feel like everybody is falling victim to misinformation on a massive scale. The American left is not "extreme" at all.

So a wannabe DOGEr at Brown Univ from the conservative student paper took the univ org chart and ran it through an AI aglo to determine which jobs were "BS" in his estimation and then emailed those employees/admins asking them what tasks they do and to justify their jobs. bloat.brownspectator.com

Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

I have been (and am) "hard NO" on Blank Check for Musk. What's strongest case *for* Senate Ds letting it through? Obviously not Schumer op-ed Try this by Martin Longman/Progress Pond. (It's a pick-your-poison argument.) I'm still "No!" but it's worth reading. www.progresspond.com/2025/03/14/f...
