This is one thing that fascinates me about pilot training.
I can imagine drilling memory items and procedures until they become actual rote memory items.
But then operating subtly different variants and needing to remember differences between them?

We used surnames a lot as well. A different team couldn’t though - their two Jameses were MacGill and McGill.

I grew up as a Proper Bible Believing Christian with Real Faith. I saw plenty of convincing evidence to support my beliefs. I knew there was no point showing that to people who didn’t share my faith because they wouldn’t interpret it “correctly”.

I tuned in just in time to watch it land.. but didn’t realise I was watching the flight I was looking for, because they’d got the front gear down and the touchdown was completely normal, until the emergency vehicles rolled out.
