Our last national litmus test was in 2024. If you voted for a convicted felon over a law enforcement officer, you failed at morals. If you voted for an adjudicated R-ist over a woman, you failed at basic humanity.

To be clear, Biden is a shit dude. He fully supported the Gaza genocide and did evil things as president. I won't defend him against any valid claims. But if we're playing the "you have to believe the woman" game, Ashley's current stance appears to contradict your statement.

1) That diary was stolen property and sold for profit. 2) It's a bit gross to claim something someone wrote as a child when they, as an adult, denounce the veracity of those writings. If Ashley made accusations now, I'll believe her without a second thought. Until SHE makes those claims? No dice.

Wow even Skynet says that's fucked up.

Haven't heard that yet, I'll look for it later.

So they're doing the usual "let's see how little we have to do" game.

Oh no, there's a long way to hell, my friend. This is just the top of the cartoon cliff. And belief or not, stupidity and incompetence can tip us over as easily as evil. Again, it's how we got here. Trump is just the symptom. The cause is the institution that gave rise to him.

I'm not one to believe things without evidence, even my own things, but it's not really all that unreasonable. Isn't ICE operating illegally for that alone? Don't federal agents have to have clear identifiers?
comment in response to post
How many times have we been told that? "This is the one, ya'll! This'll be the WoW killer! I mean the president who'll fix all the things!"
comment in response to post
Is there any way to actually identify them? I haven't seen any consistent markings. Seems like any van full of racists can just roll up, grab someone, and deport them to a field somewhere.
comment in response to post
They really are just mall cops on power trips.

Yeah, midnight tonight (20 minutes) SCOTUS: "We're filing a stay, the National Guard is to maintain their posts until we rule on this sometime 2029"

As Devin would say: "Hopefully the courts will enforce it!"

I suppose we'll see. Quick side question, I want to see this speech. Are we talking about his presser?
comment in response to post
Dumb, isn't it? Seems like a weakness. Like we'd want recognized experts in a specific field to oversee the national oversight of that field.
comment in response to post
So they at least told the truth. By accident.

Is he, though? Biden talked a lot about "trying," and he did some good, but the more you scrutinize his presidency, the more shit you dig up. I'm really sick of the shit. And all I see in Newsome is someone who looks constipated and just dancing for a chance. I hear AOC has been popular lately.
comment in response to post
Same shit, different election.
comment in response to post
I'll never support him for that alone. Constantly appealing to and compromising with the right is what got us here. I want hard left socialist democrats. People who recognize the pre-Reagan economy was actually the best but also recognize humanity human dignity need to be recovered and preserved.

Counter point: Fuck Joe Rogan some more.

I think the effort is ours to make, to be honest. There's a growing movement and call to educate among the academic community to combat pseudoscience and the "post-truth" era. The same can be started for politics as well. More people publicly addressing the issues and popularizing solutions.
comment in response to post
Yeah, but was it good or comprehensive?
comment in response to post
I don't think anyone really likes the heavily armed mall cops brazenly kidnapping people, no. But I also don't think many of us liked the way we did this shit before, either.

"Want your country back? Send us a 140 million dollars in unmarked 20s. No cops or the country gets it!"
comment in response to post
I mean, yeah? I think better education on the matter would go a lot further towards getting everyone on the correct side of the argument. Learning even a little about it got me from ignorant to questioning the necessities of countries.

"I'm not anti-immigrant. I just want them to do it LEGALLY!" Me: Bitch, we're the ones who decide what's legal in the first place!

Well, at least we can agree that everything you said is accurate there. So there's that. A bit dishonest to refuse to acknowledge the point, but eh. I'm not against immigration. My ideal system is a med exam (screen for certain diseases), a background check, and a hearty welcome. Mostly for show.
comment in response to post
So do I, dude. I'm pretty sure I illustrated how you keep ahead of the potential problems several times now. You're just shifting goal posts. What happens if you don't "have skills" and just let the avalanche of refugees and rampant growth without keeping up with the parts they need?
comment in response to post
"You're pretending to be an authority and come across like an LLM" "YOU MADE AN AD HOMINEM!" Really?
comment in response to post
My response was to someone who wanted uncontrolled immigration.
comment in response to post
Shifting the goal posts. Awesome.

Unless you don't have the jobs available to fill. You have to build the facilities to create jobs. Which take time and resources. If you don't have the resources on hand or it takes too long, the unemployed pops resort to unrest. If left unchecked long enough?

And yet 4x games ARE simulations of reality. VERY boiled down, VERY simplified, VERY limited in depth and detail by comparison. And yet you can learn enough from them to slip off the peak of Mt. Stupid on the Dunning-Kruger graph and into the realm of "I don't know shit, beyond it's conplicated."
comment in response to post
What's your argument, here? How am I wrong? What mistake am I making? Ignore the fucking 4x comment. You're apparently a child and don't understand humor. Tell me why you'd want uncontrolled immigration over ensuring your country is able to support it's growing population? ARGUE THE POINT.
comment in response to post
Wow. Okay. 1) The 4x game remark is a joke. You eventually learn about them when you stop doing your job. 2) My argument is that you need to keep your population in balance with your infrastructure and production. 3) Are you going to deny that this issue is complicated?

Trump: "You got him, man! Go beat him up! I'll be over here, near the exit."
comment in response to post
Oh, this'll be fun What strawman did I make?
comment in response to post
Nope. Just making a point that people don't like and relentlessly attack the wrong part of. Because strawman are easy to beat the shit out of.
comment in response to post
Okay?
comment in response to post
No~ he brought a piece, not peace! Namely his gun.
comment in response to post
I didn't? I just said I've played enough of them to know things are complicated, and there's a valid reason for why you want to control the borders? Ya'll might want to try understanding a point before responding to it.
comment in response to post
Very cute.

You might want to Google US food insecurities. I'm sure you'll have all kinds of answers, and we should just elect you in 2028 to be president. Also, elect you as every seat in House and Senate and just declare you king or whatever. Fix our problems.

Stellaris. You can negotiate open immigration treaties with other empires and allow refugees to seek asylum. It results in sudden population dumps, which you then have to micro manage.
comment in response to post
Yay, we figured out the difference between games and real life. That being people DIE in real life when they fuck it up. Let's get back to the part where I'm pointing out that we might not want to just fuck it up...
comment in response to post
Are the typos confusing you? Because anyone at a 5th grade reading level could easily figure out what those words are supposed to be. Do you not know what a word salad is? I can whip one up if you'd like a real example.
comment in response to post
"We have an infinite amount of food" oh dear god.... I can't with you.
comment in response to post
I'm pretty sure it's obvious if you know how to follow a conversation like an adult. Care to specify where you're confused?
comment in response to post
You're right, though. This is real life. Not a game. Real people can die if someone just changes shit without considering consequences. Like what is happening right now in the White House and with DOGE. My sole argument here is that shit needs more consideration than just "do it because good."
