I know what you mean. If a kid struggles with a question, rephrasing it can really help them. AI is that super-keen kid who can't help but respond with what they think you want to hear.

It really is. Desperate to please, and as such utterly lacking in personality.

I'd be interested in doing something on different treatment of Romeo and Juliet, because of their gender.

Terrific photo.

I will likely read and have a beer later. This guy would have AI drink it for him, giving him more time to... do what exactly?

'We are not the same.' No, and I'm very glad.

That place is cursed. The car park next to it caught fire, as a result of which we missed our flight.

I'm hoping the biography will help explain what the hell Perec thinks he's playing at. #Booksky

I'm currently reading Perec's 'Life: A User's Manual', which like all the best books is making me look at the world differently. #Booksky

They are both terrific, but Will Graham edges it for me. I'd love to read more about his backstory.

Could've been. Yeah, his politics weren't great, but his autobiography is worth a look. Quite the life.

He also lived locally to me, and there were a few years when he had a column in the weekly local paper.

Appropriately for such a bonkers experiment, the layout is also all over the place, and takes a little getting used to. Story, commentary, footnotes. But it works. #Booksky

Most effective parts for me were when Stanton dug into how stories are put together, and also how limited AI (currently) is when trying to create a story. Some also genuinely moving bits of memoir, explaining his own struggles with the writing life. #Booksky

The reflected light on the table is just lovely.

Thank you for posting this - a positive coming out of another AI shitshow. More books for me to hunt down!

This was very useful, thanks. Food for thought as I start planning for September.
