It took me 4 minutes to debunk this as it spread like wildfire on social media.
I studied journalism decades ago and believe in fact checking. Many journalists... however, apparently do not.
I'm as left as it gets, but the left can be as vulnerable as the right to believing without evidence

Ask any oppressed group - resistance isn't polite. It's hard fought. It isn't holding tiny signs and censuring your own for being too bold
We know from history what happens when the opposition remains too polite to fight tyranny.

An awful lot of potash comes from Canada and is needed for fertilizer.
Cutting off supply of energy, potash and nickle are all apparently on the table. And even most of us who may not like our premiers or PMs are siding with Canada defending itself.

Looking in from outside the US it seems like denial to think letter writing and phone calls will be any more effective in the US than they are in Russia.
Those things only matter in a democracy. You have to overthrow a dictator to get democracy back first.

Don't let the cuts to Medicaid and letters to federal employees distract you from the fact they are placing loyalists in JAG and military leadership.

We are under no obligation to be tolerant of the intolerant or show kindness to those who are hateful. The time for civilly polite resistance has passed.
