DastrumppenSS at the DMV tried to intimidate me when I refused to provide the so-called real ID paperwork and couldn't respond to my off script refusal. I got my DL despite the thinly veiled threats of how many problems I was going to have in the future. 11 months in, total number of problems ZERO.

Watch two or more active duty personnel meet up and walk together in almost any setting. Within a few steps they will all fall into a cadence of 120, 30" steps per min. Not doing that takes effort. I've been out almost 30 years and still know how. That was a Foxtrot Delta Tango for sure.

At that stage you have to make a conscious ongoing effort to NOT do it right. Day three it starts and depending on follow on schools and other training almost daily formation marching can continue for a year. It is habit, muscle memory, almost instinct by the time you get to an active unit.
