I'm saying this to make people like me feel seen: I've never liked reading to my children. It's ok to not enjoy reading out loud to your kids. BUT this does not mean I did not care about their literacy. You still have to do literacy work as a parent, and it can look very different than storytime.

Listened to my 10yo twins' next level conflict resolution with each other this morning, and my heart is so full. We spent (still spend, but less now) many hours teaching them how to fight/listen/empathize/apologize/compromise. Every second is worth it. I love watching them grow together.
