I hope Gov. Polis doesn't cave and release her.

Nitpick, but they are not proposing any cutting in National Parks. Only in National Forests (different agencies).

"Paul Weiss" wasn't a person.
It's a shorthand abbreviation for the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
"Paul" died in 1956, "Weiss" in 1910.
But I agree that this is likely a legacy-destroying choice.

Kinda fits with rumors that they are going to merge regions until there are only three.
The claim is that it will enable more local-level decision making, but I think it will be the reverse. SO's and DR's will be getting orders straight from political appointees without RO to run interference.

Try Costco. They are good on diversity and pay reasonably well. Kroger is also better than target.
Neither one is perfect. But non-existent perfection doesn't need to be the enemy of moderate improvement.

One would be surprised to find out just how many (naturalized) Germans are in the USFS. Pinchot's legacy includes a strong German influence. Everything is inter-related.

My gast was indeedly most severely flabbered.
But yes - Dems need to get their act together. I'm less upset about approving cloture, and much more concerned to see House and Senate leaders 180 degrees apart on such a major issue.
Where is the coordination?

This is cloture for a different bit of senate work. Not the budget/CR cloture.
The big CR drama cloture may still be a few hours away.

Your willingness to vote against the GOP bill tells us NOTHING about how you will vote on cloture.
Please clarify your stance on cloture.
Please vote against cloture.

A RIF after 30+ days of shutdown is not automatic. The 2018-19 shutdown lasted 35 days, with no RIFs.

If I see one more map that falsely colors my home state red, I'm going to scream.
Colorado is Blue.
Maybe we should change the name to Coloazul, I don't know. But we are blue. Blue Governor, Blue Senators. 4 of 8 House districts blue, and one of the red districts was very, very close.

I agree - that map really undersells how much of America leans more left than right. Colorado now elects Dems, and ONLY Dems to the Senate and Governor's office, has done so for years. New Mexico is also much more blue than red.
Maybe make maps that don't sell the GOP's message for them.

That's bigger than I realized. I was near the front and couldn't tell how long the crowd behind me was.
I think it never got above about 25 degrees (F). Good size turnout for such cold weather.

And those early -career staff are critical in fielding Type 2 hand crews. When the west gets hot, they get pulled off regular duties and go fight fire.
They are like a fire equivalent of a citizen militia.

This came straight from the White House, probably mostly bypassing the Park Service. They're just as horrified by this as everyone else
