We need bold leadership. Now. That's why I'm running to be the next leader of the Green Party. Join our campaign: backzack.com #BackZack

How can Labour defeat a man whose biggest idea has been an abject failure; who endorsed the Truss Budget; and who has supported one of the most toxic political figures the western world has seen for decades? It's a real puzzle.

If we had an actual media, they would find the people doing these jobs and ask them what they do and why they think it's important. What the media will actually do is find a Labour politician who also thinks sacking these people is a good idea.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social. The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Labour is a sinking ship. They have abandoned ordinary people, so we are abandoning them. There are two ways the next election can go. Help us make sure it's not the wrong way join.greenparty.org.uk

Yall gonna hear news about a lot of companies halting production in China. Even returning cargo that was loaded onto containers ready to ship at port! Trump is going to paint this as a win. But it's NOT... and here's why. 👇

Remember Trump is using emergency legislation for the tariffs. So the measures that were urgent and necessary to meet that emergency have now suddenly become non-urgent and unnecessary. If US congress and courts properly held president to account for misuse of emergency powers, this would matter.

Yup, this and also the fuckers that know these moves are coming in advance are literally stealing your 401k in the process.

Why would you move your manufacturing to America when next week the tariffs might half, or disappear, or double, or grow wings and fly, or be turned into a goblin, or become an emotion, or

The US is utter chaos. Complete and utter chaos, for at least another four years and probably long into the future. Any British government working in the national interest will be investigating how to quickly reduce our exposure to it.

Preliminary data suggests that the global average increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration in 2024 will be a record. Not just a little record, but 25% higher than the previous record. (This is the global average, as opposed to Moana Loa) gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/trends/... 1/

Last month I did a little experiment. I wanted to see how the exact same post would perform on both X (Twitter) and Bluesky. The results were...interesting... [Thread]

Again, he keeps doing this & again, it is obscene while 🇷🇺 is illegally occupying 20% of 🇺🇦’s territory, & again, it violates both our NATO treaty commitments & the UN Charter, & again, it should immediately end his presidency today.

More Burnley history … Mark Carney the first Canadian PM ever to have been in the Turf Moor tunnel .. and the first to be an Everton fan. Added to which he is a top bloke and dead smart. Canada has chosen well and Trump should STFU with his 51st state BS

"The United States government took some dramatic steps this week to help Russia and weaken Ukraine—the intended result of which will be more Ukrainian deaths, fewer Russian losses, and the undermining of Ukrainian democracy" from @phillipspobrien.bsky.social open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Coming down slowly from the impact of the extraordinary @regentsopera.bsky.social Ring Cycle. An utter privilege to be so close to such powerful singing and acting. Unforgettable.

“Zelenskyy found himself ambushed by Trump and his serpentine vice-president, JD Vance. He was expected to sit back and take a beating from Nurse Ratched and Miss Trunchbull. He refused”. Superb piece by David Smith. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The best way to confront a bully about the misinformation he is spreading is to confront him in front of everyone. Macron just did that.

The problem with having people with no knowledge of the federal government engage in mass firing is that you end up firing people who work on nuclear weapon safety because you don't know what the Department of Energy even does. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

It’s not politics as usual - and pretending that it is just makes us look weak and scared, with little agency and no self-conviction.

What an idiot. This level of projection would knock Sigmund Freud off his chair.

Equinor , the company behind the new Rosebank oilfield , say they are halving their investment in renewables . Inevitable when you have Starmer & Reeves briefing the press that they still blindly back new oil and gas . Criminal . www.bbc.com/news/article...

Trump has now asked Elon Musk to examine US defence spending. Elon Musk’s companies have multi billion dollar contracts with the Department of Defense and are seeking more. The BBC’s Today Programme just reported the first part, without mentioning the second. Unacceptable

The Orbánisation of America has begun. With tech billionaire at his side. shorturl.at/ATkcz

Then why am I defrosting my car? Yet another example of physics going woke.

Trump's threats of ethnic cleansing in Gaza are abhorrent and the UK government must stand firmly against them

"Make sure you are talking to people &doing something... the logic of all coups, is to gain quick dramatic successes that deter &demoralize &create the impression of inevitability. Nothing is inevitable. Do not be alone &do not be dismayed. Find someone who is doing something you admire & join them"

What has changed @lisanandymp.bsky.social? #heathrow #HeathrowExpansion

The expansion of #Heathrow isn't only about climate breakdown, it's about fairness too A small minority of people take the majority of flights yet the pollution & climate breakdown affect everyone, especially the poorest

No. And anyone who says it can is lying to you. Climate Emergency. There's a clue in the last word. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Agree with all but the final sentence. I think it should read: Many of us really don’t want to fix it. Why? Because though tech-based solutions, are a prerequisite, they are now insufficient, & need to run alongside profound social change. This is not acceptable to most of us wealthy hi-emitters.

You can say, “gravity isn’t real,” but if you step off the cliff, you’re still going down. And if you convince other people it’s not real, you are responsible for what happens if they make decisions based on the information you withheld.

"A lot of people assume that somewhere in Britain there are sheds full of food that we’d distribute in a disaster. Surely there is a grain or butter mountain somewhere? Surely the UK government has a plan for such a crisis? Nope. No sheds. No stores. No mountains of food. No plan"

With huge sadness I’m resigning as Vice President of RSPCA, a role I’ve held with pride for over 15 years. But their Assured Schemes risk misleading the public & legitimising cruelty. I tried with @ChrisGPackham to persuade the leadership to act but sadly failed www.thetimes.com/article/100c...

The top of British politics needs to wake up to what's coming.
