The Spirit of '92 incarnate. Hippie ideals, punk attitude, and a grunge wardrobe. REMINDER: I don’t fucking work for you.

My daughter is native Boricua, and she does the same. Island folks are virtuosos with canned meats.

sometimes I think about how Kim Cattrall was bumped from The Good Witch of Laurel Canyon because of Porky's, yet the gold standard for American children's programming had a cast member who'd played a NYC pimp and no one (rightfully) gave a shit.

While things such as this exist in isolation on YouTube and the like, there's something magical about seeing then in their original habitat -- sandwiched between a Tonya Harding joke and a Black 47 studio performance.

My dad’s response to “are you judging me?” from those sorts was always “yes, I am, because you chose to be a dumbass.”

Secular leaning and cosmopolitan minded folks need to stop feeling as if their beliefs and values are inherently inferior to those of dipshits who lean into the caricatured of insular hicks.

One thing that really hit home in King’s “Apt Pupil” novella was the ubiquity of what amounted to WW2 atrocity porn for the boomers older X’ers. The Best of Life had a photo of charred Japanese head mounted on a wrecked tank, FFS!

There’s a wartime LIFE article with a artist’s eyewitness depictions of the island hopping campaign, the the stuff makes EC horror at its worst look tame by comparison. I’d post and example but it’s not something I’d inflict on a public feed.

Mainly how the disease either instantly kills or slowly debilitates depending on what cool shot he can wrangle out of it. NYC in complete unrest with gunfire everywhere yet somehow the horse carriages were still doing their rounds in Central Park.

It’s all over The Stand where shit will contradict itself back, forth, snd back again in the space of five minutes. Like, park that shit in a file somewhere for use in a project where it does fit.

There will also be some bit such as "Mednafen is notoriously difficult to set up" which is technically true but I managed to go in pig ignorant, watch a 10 min. step-by-step YouTube tutorial by some dude with a heavy Scottish accent, and get shit working pretty easily.

Decided to watch the first part of The Stand, and what a flight of fancy about government ineptitude, individual selfish stupidity, and delusions about “it’s just a regular cold” causing a global pandemic. Especially the part about a twisted demagogue using it to recreate society in his image.

Also: We’re not in third grade anymore. No one is impressed by Mall Ninja: Weather Edition chest thumping. Oh, you’re used to your median climate conditions? Wow, what a fucking shock.

It gave the Phoenix thing some extra zest, in that the one person who really didn't want that shit thrust upon them ended up as a cosmic being, and it eroded everything she'd accomplished beforehand. It tied her back to the school and the team & made her doubt her level of control over her powers.
