That's disgusting behaviour.

There are a lot of chicken Supremes in US Congress right now.

I live in the UK so didn't know what 86 meant. From the descriptions given, "kill" doesn't come into it. So "fake news" from Trump.

Why is the UK engaged in this???? And what guarantees do UK military personnel have that some unqualified dickhead in the US won't go leaking sensitive info to friends, family, journalists...?

RFK needs to read The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. Plenty of historical evidence of neurodivergence in that book, dating back to RFK's youth.

Biden was too old when he became president. His hubris lost the 2024 election. He should have had plans to transfer power in a controlled manner to a successor instead of the panicked switcheroo. The damage was already done by that point.

Would you mind backing that statement up with some facts that we can take apart?

"incompetent" comes to my mind. And I bet that word would really hurt.

Good post.

Do try and understand his pathology but never feel sorry for him.

Absolutely.

Poor Trump. Most of the world sees him as a figure of ridicule and petty vindictive hateful spite. He has only a few years left to make his mark on history. He will be remembered for many things but never as a great leader. That must really hurt his fragile ego.

I've always been incredibly curious about what went on (or down?) in that room. Trump looked like he had just seen hell.

Trump administration: parrot Putin propaganda BS all you want. The rest of the world knows the truth about who the aggressor is.

Yep.

Good governance in a democracy needs to be open to robust scrutiny. If there is nothing to see in El Salvador then what's the issue with a visit to verify? Conversely, condemning any attempt at scrutiny is not a good look.

Never imagined writing this before now... thank you Grant Shapps.

In a few days he will say "Are you sure I said that? I don't think I did".

Will Lammy resign or will there be a reshuffle...?

The formula for the latest tariffs were written by AI, yes really. This is how he put uninhabited places and an American military base on the list of tariffs.

It's not him though, is it? He's not smart enough to come up with anything. He's just a front man puppet. Unfortunately he's also too thick to realise the 'policy' stuff he's being fed by 'advisors' and 'experts' is crap.

Don't give this image any dubiety and call it for what it is: hitlergruß. Sickening.

Exactly the same.

100%. At some point there needs to be a reckoning between endless growth and sustainability. MAGA has made it clear they want to kick that conversation down the road. As a species we should know better by now :-(

I never looked at it this way before. Wow.

1. How much government data has Musk stolen in his raids on our agencies? 2. Government data is EXTREMELY valuable in establishing AI 3. How can we allow a lobbyist (Musk) to work in the White House and stream through TONS of valuable data? 4. Are we supposed to trust Musk in policing this data?

That would make Streeting Carter Burke.

Completely accurate Larry LeClair.

Vance doesn't have the cult of personality so would arguably not win an election (if there were one in 4 years - US readers take note). But he would be president with all the power (and recently established freedom from prosecution) that comes with it.

My question also posted elsewhere, rephrased differently here: how hackable is Signal?

Great post. As I regularly remind people I work with: what are your killer questions?

Jacob "do as I say, not as I do" Rees Mogg. Who was a vocal campaigner for Brexit. Who moved significant capital to Republic of Ireland.

The use of emojis was nauseating. Those who have power to run state kills should feel the conscience of every death on their watch. Doesn't matter if they've killed a terrorist or bandit. They should still have the insight to reflect on what they've just commanded.

You can see why he was upset. He doesn't look orange enough in the portrait

This clip puts me in mind of an Apprentice contestant bullshitting their way out of a wonky situation.

Q for cyber security experts: how easy would it have been for Russia to intercept Witkoff's Signal chat?

Question for any cyber security experts on this thread: referring specifically to the messages received whilst in Russia, how easy is it to intercept Signal messages?

Dogma and inflexibility. Perhaps a symptom of Reeves lack of experience and ideas.

In fairness Trump much prefers disco music.
