And this is why if you have any sense of self-preservation you wear genital protection at protests.

The multiple projectile ones get skipped off the ground, so do tear gas canisters.
The 40 mm sponge rounds get shot directly at people, and so do regular rubber bullets. Cops don’t give a shit where they aim them due to qualified immunity so “less lethal” becomes a lot more lethal very quickly.

This brought back old memories of Forklift Driver Klaus from decades ago…(warning, comedic gore).

I’m waiting for a governor (god knows it won’t be Newsom) to refuse federalization of the guard. Newsom will post about it but doesn’t have the courage to stop it.

Then they can quit and get a different job. Until then, they’re the bad guys.

That said, I don’t know the specifics of California law, but I can’t imagine the state was so stupid as to word it otherwise. Most states reserve LE powers for when the guard is under the control of the state itself.

National Guard only gets law enforcement powers when a governor deploys them, not the federal government.
To my knowledge, the orange dipshit hasn’t actually invoked the insurrection act yet.

Empowered by blowhard lawyers, establishment magazine writers and rich prime time commentators who whine about civility when this country is in a street fight.

Tom is going to be shocked when they eventually put his arrogant ass up against the wall and nobody lifts a finger to stop it, because he let everyone else get put there first.

Unlocking with passcodes and passwords is a testimonial act, meaning you have to reveal something that’s in your mind.
Biometric unlocking is a non-testimonial act, because it’s a physical trait and act. It’s the same reason police can force you to be fingerprinted or have your mugshot taken.

Sadly we have some experience with this stuff here in the Minneapolis metro. 😒

Tom Nichols being a cowardly idiot is as predictable as Trump throwing ketchup.

Wayzata happened on the U campus…I think they haven’t linked the shooter to the ceremony.

Mind you, I’m not saying to avoid protests. Quite the opposite.
They want people afraid to gather. Fuck em.

Trump should have been impeached the moment he pardoned the Jan 6 assholes. And yet here we are. 😒

They started that crap back in 2022. Best I’ve found is to enclose anything you want verbatim in double quotes (e.g. “small”). Haven’t found any way to exclude the synonyms but at least the double quotes force your word or phrase to be in the result.

I’m disappointed in Bessent. A perfect chance to hit Musk in his overused testicles and prevent him from breeding again, squandered by a wimpy cabinet member.

Mind you, I am OK with student athletes being compensated for the amount of money they bring in. I know that comes with its own risks and frankly changes their role further away from being a student above all else, but let’s be honest…they haven’t been normal students for years.

I didn’t end up taking it (that’s a longer story), but I was offered a full ride to a D1 school for trumpet performance as an orchestral musician.
Want to bet on whether that kind of offer will exist when the school can use it to get another linebacker instead?

I don’t think Trump has enough brain cells to plan anything. Miller is the one who worries me. Jewish or not, I’m pretty sure that guy masturbates to Triumph of the Will.

Nah. Not only did you stand for it but your own shocktroopers assaulted your population. Turn LAPD loose on ICE and we might believe you.
