I taught English for 30+ years; this response is familiar: She gave the instructions; he didn’t do the work. When the work was due, instead of admitting he didn’t do his homework, he pivots, “I misunderstood the assignment; I’ll turn it in tomorrow.” But, tomorrow, he’ll be out sick! #Sophomoric

You’d almost think that some people didn’t want a “Madam President” and would prefer a “President Doofus!”

By that logic, we should all be toting machine guns, bazookas, and rocket launchers!

Now, if only we’d had a president who could have used the Insurrection Act to send in the National Guard!

Who would have guessed? Smdh

Yes- the guardsmen in LA are California National Guard; the protocol for the president would have been to consult with the governor. Trump prefers to usurp Newsom’s authority

Interesting how the same people who have no problem calling Phil McGraw “Dr Phil” denigrated Dr Jill Biden, suggesting that she wasn’t a “real” doctor because wasn’t an MD. I hate to burst any bubbles, but your buddy Phil isn’t an MD either. His doctorate is in psychology. Hypocrisy, anyone?

We’ve been here before: Deploying military units against civilians rarely has good outcomes, and has stained our past in similar circumstances. Trying to stifle free speech under the guise of quelling violence begets more (and escalated) violence.

This is good advice: Young protesters should learn from their elders. Lived experience is a powerful teacher!

Good advice, o wise one! By the very definition of “anarchy,” those bozos deal in turmoil, chaos, disorder, unrest. And you are right, they are not in it for the long haul. They’re not looking to effect change; they’re there for the thrills and the mess. They damage the righteous cause!

Reminded of e e cummings poem “Plato Told Him”- inability to grasp realities despite repeated warnings carries tragic consequences. Though Cummings specifically referenced war, his caution can be applied generally to current events. Let’s hope it doesn’t take a bullet to the head to wake people up!

How about carrying an American flag and attacking law enforcement with it? How insane is that?

He’d better take it easy with that makeup; if he gets any browner, ICE may scoop him up and send him to El Salvador (one can wish)

I’m a vet’s wife. My hubs served 20 years USAF, stationed 2x in Vietnam, 1 yr Thailand during Vietnam War, now suffering from 4 presumptive Agent Orange diseases & can no longer live at home. I am struggling to get benefits- I’m not disgusted: I’m furious, enraged, livid, apoplectic. Is that clear?

I have no doubt that this event was NOT staged, but I am not sure that Trump was hit by a bullet. Clearly, there was blood on the side of his face. But, it may have been from something other than a gunshot wound.

Here’s what we know: A man with an AR-15 shot from a distance of ~400 ft. One man was killed. The campaign reported that Trump sustained a 2 cm wide gunshot wound to the top of his right ear. Here’s what a watermelon looks like when struck by an AR-15 bullet @400 yards. So, you tell me!?
