was down by independence mall this afternoon and spotted dozens of Flamengo kits. outnumbered Chelsea kits 10 to 1. Anecdotal but it was surprising to me.

i ran into Jason Segel like 5 times in random parts of the city while they were filming Dispatches. Very underrated show!

Quinta Brunson told a hilarious story on Seth Rogen's storytime podcast about seeing a movie in Philly before she was famous and the only other person in the theater was Paul Rudd. (fwiw, as a Philadelphian, my reaction to your post was also 'why the hell were there models in Philly?! 💀)

1) I ushered Kelsey Grammer to his seat at an Off-Broadway play in the late 90s.
2) I saw Peter Dinklage with his family at a fancy homegoods boutique in Rhinebeck, NY. He was looking at a $300 throw pillow and giving off strong don't talk to me vibes.

Would DC United get any compensation as part of the original sale to westerlo? i think they had a 35% sell on clause?

it's worse than that. it's TALK ABOUT bringing in a name to distract from all the other crap within this club. I'd be shocked if DC were seriously pursuing KDB. Maybe I'll be proven wrong but after 20 years of supporting this team i sadly can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt.

what a coincidence that DCU is expressing interest in a big name player right when "ownership is cheap and lacks ambition" is the main storyline of the season.

"anti-government" doing a lot of work here. If the suspect had a history of anti-trump rhetoric and firebombed a Republican governor's mansion would this be written the same way? Or what if he were black or Muslim? How would this be framed?

first goal an unlucky deflection. second goal some terrible defending, rowles with the speed of molasses and joon with some God awful positioning. third goal a dumb foul in the box by peltola. failure is a team sport for DCU.

Maybe a big splashy summer DP signing? A #10 perhaps? Probably just wishful thinking tho. DCU fans don't get nice things.

DC had 57% possession, 19 shots vs 11 for Chicago, DC had a higher xG, DC had 10 corners to Chicago's 5. Chicago was in no way the better team.

I've got some good questions for the next season of Mystery Show, including "what the fuck is going on?" and "no, seriously, what the fuck?"

Terrible soccer decisions are why we haven't made the playoffs. For example, lighting $800k on fire for ravel Morrison was not a decision based on sound business principles.

For the record I hate the move, but I get the reasoning behind it.

Like I said, business decision not a soccer decision. We'll see what they do with the money. This was a cash for player trade so that money can be used in more flexible ways (like investing in the academy) than just straight GAM. I imagine that's what made the offer attractive.

He wasn't being shipped but they got an offer they didn't think they could refuse. Ted didn't show well last year and has been injured. They took the bird in hand for a distressed asset. Troy's answer leans heavily into "this was a business decision."

Sometimes, for no discernable reason, you associate certain things with certain people. I will forever associate Tom Robbins with you because I think you were reading him when we met?

McKay inherited a teardown from Kasper. They've finished the teardown and now we can finally start the remodel. I'm not guaranteeing it'll work, I'm just saying I see the vision and I have hope for the future. This team has been bad and bloated for a decade, gonna take time to climb out of the hole.

Counterpoint: this season was all about shedding the dead weight created by years of Dave Kasper mismanagement. They've got cap space and GAM and McKay and lesesne seem to have a plan. I DO have hope for this team -- 3 transfer windows from now. Am I wrong to be optimistic for the distant future?

If that's the case, it would be worth asking about plans for an android app. Apple bought worldwide distribution rights, but are excluding three BILLION android users globally from their product - 70% of the global smartphone universe. Seems like a big miss.

Did they announce a new app for android users today? Is that why you're asking? Been desperately wanting this for two years.

Is that last part effective immediately? Can DC now buy out klich's remaining contract that they're responsible for and get the DP spot back?

Do you think DCU is negotiating in good faith and dumping pirani is part of the plan? Or is this a case where they want to keep him and will only let him go for a huge transfer fee? IMHO the pirani contract extension was Mackay's only mistake so far.
