Whenever I hear that title I get it confused with Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode.

Basically lore is world-building, characters, and facts that make up a universe. Continuity is consistency of story elements; whether the lore is used in a coherent way over time. They overlap, but lore is the substance, and continuity is the stitching that holds it together.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for The Church and the Crown.

To be fair, what would he have to say about the flagship show? They're not making anything. And anything being written he can't talk about. He could pen witty, 'Here's what I did with my day...' stuff, but it would be 99% not Doctor Who related. I see the sense in not writing the column at present.

The original line of thought probably runs, “In today's shoddily written era, with scripts over-stuffed with characters... we need more episodes to get to know the companions better”

Frances White (Cassandra) said at the Utopia convention that it's in the works. The host apparently kept trying to fudge it to maintain a sense of uncertainty but she kept correcting him to say they were definitely working on it. LOL.

Says who? I’ve seen all kinds of amounts crowdfunded before today, for all sorts of projects.

I reckon they don’t have the budget for it/don’t know how to make it work financially. I think they should crowdfund it, honestly.

That would depend on how humourless the powers-that-be over at Big Finish are these days. The real threat to art isn’t comedy - it’s the rise of people who treat outrage like a moral compass.

One of the shows of my youth that I really loved but I'd mention to people and they'd look at me blankly. Even when the movie happened years later it still didn't jog memories. I was delighted to get the DVD of the TV series sometime in the past decade; a hard thing to track down. Vale, Maurice.

And if you need the math:
🕰️ Time between announcement and first episode: From 8 May 2022 to 9 December 2023 = 1 year, 7 months, 1 day ➡️ 579 days
🕰️ Time between first and final episode: From 9 December 2023 to 31 May 2025 = 1 year, 5 months, 22 days ➡️ 540 days

Nice. It was a 1-2 punch for us back in the day alongside the YOU FAT BASTARDS videotape, which was the band doing the album live in the UK. Brixton Academy, if I recall. The amount of times I watched that, alone or with mates, I wouldn't like to even guess.

I'd just turned 14 when that LP dropped. Was the perfect age for it.
