Spent the day at one of the most famous birding locations in the US! Blurry pics to come. #birds

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BIRD PROBABLY!

So-so photos of so-great birds. Such a good time to get outside and look up. (Prairie Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Northern Parula) 🪶

One of our most beautiful birds! The Rose-breasted Grosbeak. My best photo. #worstbirdpic

Monday lunch break: 20 seconds of 10 ducklings! 🪶

These Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are building a nest at our park. Check out this teamwork! 🪶

BEHOLD THE MAGNIFICENT SCARLET TANAGER! This was my best photo. #nocrop #nofilter #worstbirdpic 🪶

New study finds where birds are declining most. High trend resolution data reveals complexity of bird population changes. “This is the first time we’ve had fine-scale information on population changes across such broad spatial extents and across entire ranges of species,” said Dr. Amanda Rodewald.

Big birding day! Drove down to semi-Appalachian southern Ohio for warblers etc. Made a stop at a nearly 100-year-old donut shop in Chillicothe. Saw 23 warblers(!) and ate most of these in one sitting. Tales and blurry pics to come! #birds

WHAT A MAGNIFICENT BIRD PROBABLY!

Yellow-throated Warblers, in my inept but lengthy experience, spend most of their time high in trees, nearly impossible to see. You hear their wonderful high decrescendo song and tell yourself that’s enough. Until …this happens! Every few years one comes down and delights you. 🪶 #birding!

Whoa, not a bad night for birdies. Heading out at the crack of breakfast and will let you know how it goes. Blurry pics to come.
