I am shocked every single time I see one by just how hideous they are.

The best thing about watching old episodes of Top Gear is how they'd hype up some new hypercar as, like, exceeding the imagined bounds of science, and it had like 400hp. The original Pagani Zonda had less horsepower than a 2025 Mustang GT.

Gonna text me "are you home? I need the money to pay the mowers." Bitch I drive a bright red Outback, and I park outside. Do you see it? Then no, I'm not home.

There are plenty of issues with how Tony Khan runs AEW, but I don't think anyone can deny that the man loves the shit out of wrestling.

I did the same. Which one did you choose?

Oh, I just don't really play enough, or at least don't 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺 playing enough now that I mostly play solo to justify spending more money on the game. I'll do it anyway, because they're great skins, I'm just gonna be slightly grumpy about it.

My day is ruined 😭

Good lord, Vince would have had that lacrosse lad as the intercontinental champion by September.

I'm not belittling the accomplishment, I'm simply pointing out that every new console sells out at launch, and that initial sales numbers are more a measure of available stock than long-term commercial viability. I'm also not claiming that the Switch 2 won't be a success

That's literally my point. The Wii U sold out upon release, even though it ended up being a commercial failure. **That's not to say the Switch 2 will be a failure.** I'm simply pointing out that launch day/week sales are more of an indicator of available stock than long-term commercial viability.

I know a lot of modern Apple's whole deal is "we invented this thing that already exists and will charge you a 1.5x premium for it," but Windows Vista might be a bridge too far even for them.

You're either genuinely stupid or willfully stupid, and I don't give a fuck which it is, you're getting blocked.

It's not being COMPARED to anything. The statement is that every console sells out of the initial stock. That's literally it. The Wii U is an EXAMPLE of how selling out at launch is an irrelevant measure of long-term success.

I've already answered the question multiple times. You are either incapable or unwilling to grasp a simple concept. Comparing it to the third best selling console of all time is pointless when the point being made is that the initial sales numbers are an irrelevant measure of long term success.

Because it's comparing two Nintendo consoles, and the Wii U is the most recent console that can be called an outright failure. The same applies to the Xbox One, which sold out of its initial stock despite a disastrous announcement.
comment in response to post
Nobody is being negative! The ONLY point being made is that initial sales numbers are more a measure of how much stock is available than an indicator of the long-term success of a console.

Well this is awkward.

Whatever you need to tell yourself.

It did, though. There were a lot fewer units available and sold, but the initial production sold out, even with how expensive it was.
comment in response to post
Yeah it did. It sold 2m units in the first 11 days, even with the disaster of a launch, it was still sold out everywhere.
comment in response to post
These press releases, for every company, could also be phrased "Nintendo Produced 3.5 Million Units Worldwide" The initial stock of every console always sells out. That's just the nature of hardware launches.
comment in response to post
They'll somehow forget that every console sells out of however many units are in the initial stock.

That's not even mentioning the $170 Dualsense Edge or the $200 Xbox Elite controllers.
