Iāve said this before on here, but here it is again: the USMC is widely respected in the world for its battle honours, like Normandy Landings, Sicily and Italy, the Pacific Islands, Iwo Jima to name a few. Donāt add Los Angeles or worse, USA to these. The stain would never go. Semper Fidelis.

Well, erm, itās not the way we would do it this side of the Atlantic. However, Iāve come across worse barbarism in Europe. Once in a bar in Spain I asked for a cup of tea. I got a tall glass full of boiling milk with a teabag floating belly up like a dead frog. The milk had curdled at the thought.

This is an interesting conversation. My wife was a hospital pharmacist, absolutely top end. For 6 weeks a year she lectured intern MDs but always was on hand at the āhatchā. People would ask her if they could talk to the pharmacist. The real one. The man. (He was a technician).
