I now want to go and rake through my shelves to see if I've got any examples... 👀

I personally love an em dash, and I use them ALL THE TIME.

I think I've maybe been on one Sunderland in a museum, but I've never flown in any kind of flying boat or seaplane! Although, given I'm not great with boats generally, maybe I'd be better off sticking to aircraft that land on the ground 😵‍💫

It's a fantastic read, I can't believe how well you and Alex have tied such a variety of stories together! Amazing work from you both - I'm secretly hoping you're going to do a book for each month of the war...

I genuinely feel like I've been cheated out of the possibility of budget flying boat travel in this century. No I DON'T want another Airbus A319, get me a Sunderland.

(sorry, managed to completely miss the fact that you have in fact already read it!)

I'm genuinely embarrassed to admit that The Charioteer is the only one or hers I've read, but I *have* read it about 6 times so that must count for something... 😂 it's not a Greek one though (despite the title), it's set during WW2.

Hungerstone by Kat Dunn (I read it all in one go), and if you haven't read it then The Charioteer by Mary Renault is one of my all time favourites (although it's possibly a bit of an acquired taste...)

... I'm going to need to know more about that second one 😂🐢

my plan when I get back from the getaway is to buy more shelves (and then probably fill them immediately)

Yup. Rarely sleep past 7. And I can't lie in bed after I've woken up either, or I end up with a headache all day...

I've never visited, but I do know where that is 😂 its reputation precedes it...

Oh that sucks, the ones I've got are ok but maybe I was lucky...

Vieux Charles all the way! I've got an SE5a pair and a Hurricane pair but I'm sorely tempted by those ones...

I own one of those, and it's Biggles in Spain 😂

I know it's a national symbol of France, but the fact that particular badge has a cock on it is absolutely glorious.
