I would prefer Google! These companies are bad. Did you see Joanna Penn has her own ChatGPT collab now? GenAI was useful for outing certain writers as grifters: chatgpt.com/g/g-jzmTNYUY...

I feel the same. But I'm also shivering about how much I was dependent on Google's ecosystem up until this year.

I just see it as a changing of the guard. Hate ChatGPT etc. for lots of things, but provided these tools improve and link to stuff without hallucinating, and they don't link to stuff in a weird corrupt way, then I'm OK with conversational search.

Awesome reflections! I didn't really touch on social media for activist purposes in the newsletter. It's cool to hear your thoughts :) A lot of those conversations happen in semi-private places for me now (Discord, Slack, etc.)

Lol bit of both? It's so hard to have distance from your own writing. It must feel special to have a cover that links to that writing. 😅

There was an ALLi discussion over a cover an author intended to be YA fantasy, but the consensus was that the cover suited a financial thriller. You don't know what you don't know + Dunning-Kruger effect.
