Wait Texas made it illegal for power companies to show a map of their outages?
Fucking hilarious if true

SCMP is basically Beijing’s version of the “Voice of America”, a naked anti-anything-not-China propaganda outlet
Could still be true but anything sourced from it should probably be corroborated.

...and now you can go into that cocktail party armed with the proper background on Skibidi when you start talking about "kids these days".
Gen Alpha is just getting started, too, so fucking buckle up.

5. It's NOT related to "Skibidi" by Russian rave artist Little Big, but that does show you how much Russian and Bulgarian dance music cross-pollinate with each other.

4. And that song itself is probably shouting out the infamous 1994 track "Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop" by Scatman John. Sorry for reminding you of that one. But in Balkan hip hop that clearly made an impression as it shows up over and over.

3. In turn, Dragonov is shouting out an iconic Bulgarian grime dance number from 2000 produced by Rumanetsa & Enchev called "Pipni me tuk". The Dragonov track contains lyrics from that song, and the R&E song has the phrase "dip skibidi dip dip skibidi tip tip"

2. The particular "skibidi" in "Skibidi Toilet" is a distorted sample of "Dom Dom Yes Yes" by Bulgarian-Turkish hip-hop artist Biser Dragonov. This is a typical Balkan hip-hop song where he boasts about how he's going to beat you at drag racing and run off with your girl.

1. "Skibidi" itself is a long-running phrase in "scat singing", rhythmic constellations of nonsense syllables set to a syncopated rhythm. The exact vocalization of "skibidi" probably goes back to at least the 1940s and perhaps longer.

“leniency” hopefully means “involuntary treatment” which is definitely not a picnic

A lot of adults are like that too but it’s somewhat normal for teens. Doesn’t make them less terrifying.
