Juneteenth is HERE! My people, I hope we are enjoying the day! Everyone else, Juneteenth is not a day off, it's a day ON. -Support your local Black orgs -Learn about Juneteenth & the other “Freedom Days” -Support Black Creatives & Businesses. If you can buy, share about them.

You mean to tell me that a bunch of far right representatives heckled the previous President every chance they got BUT one senator moves to ask a question and he's thrown out of a conference, handcuffed, and now is being threatened with censure?

When advocating for immigrant folks, PLEASE stop focusing on their UTILITY and focus on their HUMANITY youtube.com/shorts/32QuY...

Rather than debate the transatlantic slave trade or enslavement, here are some resources to learn more about the experiences of trafficked folks from Black authors. www.patreon.com/posts/people...

While some folks are denying the transatlantic slave trade, these Black divers go to wreckages to honor the lives of those trafficked & those lost along the way. An estimated 12.5 million souls were trafficked on 10s of thousands of ships. 1.8 million died along the way. youtu.be/u2l_EugvRw8?...

This is a reminder to support independent, local, marginalized owned and operated media. Start with us: www.thedownload.news

Remembering the lives lost & the lives irrevocably changed during the Tulsa race massacre. Honoring those survivors of the massacre who still live, Viola Fletcher & Lessie Benningfield Randle, who to this day, seek reparations for the destruction of Greenwood.

Connection doesn't always mean WiFi. Lets Talk about this. youtube.com/shorts/LkKD-...

Connection doesn’t always mean WiFi. Community doesn’t have to have a follower count. Communication doesn’t always have to have a comment section.

For the sake of the community, some conversations cannot be held online. They need to be held on stoops, on porches, & on park benches. They need to be held in intentionally safe spaces, away from the gladiator matches & bad actors of the internet.

To those who served, but were never honored. We honor you. We remember you. We thank you and we won’t forget you.

A reminder that Memorial Day is a Black holiday.“ The fact that the freed slaves’ Memorial Day tribute is not as well remembered is emblematic of the struggle that would follow, as African Americans’ fight to be fully recognized for their contributions to American society continues to this day.”

5 years since George Floyd’s murder, which allegedly sparked a racial "reckoning", we've seen: -Increased police militarization -The banning of Black history & books by Black authors critical of racism -Rollbacks of promises of fair practices in corporations -Attacks on equity & justice efforts

Here are actually effective places you can donate to instead of to Harvard (they literally have Billions) -Temporary housing shelters -Kids in your neighborhood's school lunch bills -mutual aids -food pantries/feeding organizations -local libraries -community care organizations -local scholarships

The Supreme Court has ruled against allowing Oklahoma’s taxpayer-funded religious charter school

Hang in there, yall.

The Justice Department is dropping police reform agreements with Louisville and Minneapolis, which came after the killings of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd

Be clear: this new bill will kill people. Whether it’s -kicking the most vulnerable off their healthcare -stressing the already strained US medical system -forcing rural care facilities to close Be clear, elected officials are willing to allow people to die to line the pockets of the rich.

It is not hateful to say that no one should be starving children. It is not hateful to say that no one should be starving children. It is not hateful to say that no one should be starving children. It is not hateful to say that no one should be starving children.

Being willing to -snatch food from the plates of the most vulnerable -take healthcare from just under half of new mothers -allow the air, soil, & water to be polluted -reduce the quality of food -make economic conditions even worse -stress already stressed medical facilities doesn't feel pro "life"

Stop arguing with people who protect and defend abusers. Do THIS instead. youtube.com/shorts/BCA8M...

Redlining shaped the power grid. Communities of color are still paying the price.

Be clear: criminally charging an elected official for doing their duty is a bullying attempt to do nothing more than stoke fear. Rep LaMonica McIver, a member of Congress was doing her job. This administration can only bully, but it can’t stop the people’s work. Standing with Rep. McIver.

Stop telling Black people to ignore racism when combating it is one of the ways we have literally survived. Start asking why you are comfortable enough to tell people who have survived human trafficking, terrorism, & a legalized racial caste system to ignore the violence that persists against them

Class solidarity won’t ever happen without race solidarity. Race solidarity won’t happen without a reckoning. Somebody go tell Bernie Sanders.

The reason this administration is trying to move so fast with unjust actions & harmful policy is because they know the truth: They only have so long to do these things. People have fought since DAY ONE. It’s only so long before 1 election wipes out any majority. They know. Keep going. It’s working.

Big time fan and supporter of TeamUSA

Don’t you forget about voting today, Pennsylvania.

I know how passionate some Bernie supporters are, but him completely dismissing that many of his supporters have been/are antiBlack & saying that those allegations were “the democratic establishment” spreading lies, while on a podcast that has also been antiBlack, is telling.

I’m in this photo and I don’t like it. #booksky

The fear of being disappeared by ICE is so real. But imagine someone pretending to be ICE to do harm or stoke fear? That actually happened. youtu.be/fYqot3qrlOc

The problem a lot of movements face is that everyone is vying to be the figurehead, the star, the center of the movement, but not enough people want to be the helpers, the assistants, the workers. Let's talk...⬇️⬇️⬇️ youtu.be/k58Dl0DRolc

Walmart announced it would raise prices due to tariffs. A Trumpian meltdown ensued.

New episodes of “Sesame Street” and library episodes will be available to watch on Netflix worldwide

Imagine electing the very people who will -steal Medicare & Medicaid from MILLIONS -snatch SNAP & WIC benefits -end free meals at schools -defund food pantries -defund essential social services -throw the economy into chaos all so they can pay for the tax breaks they are giving billionaires.

What is happening to Adriana Smith, a 30 year old nurse in Georgia, is abhorrent, but its also part of a horrific legacy of experimentation and neglect of Black people. youtube.com/shorts/_pS6h...

Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive form’ of prostate cancer

On this day in 1896, the Plessy v. Ferguson decision allowed racial segregation in public facilities. That ruling essentially -legitimized Jim Crow, -erased legislative achievements won during the Reconstruction Era, -& allowed segregation laws & practices to infest beyond the south.

71 years ago today, Brown Vs The Board of Education was decided. The Supreme Court ruled racial segregation laws were violations of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. A major victory for the Civil Rights Movement.

The hardest lesson I had to learn about bigots is that they are perfectly fine being on a sinking ship, as long as marginalized people drown first.
