rather, if there *is* a non-Fandom-operated or otherwise independent Kamen Rider/general tokusatsu wiki in English anywhere, I need it in my bookmarks right this second

that stinks and everyone knows it, so at some point you gotta ask if the pockets paying for this kind of gaming news sunsetting is *deliberately aiming toward* a lack of reportage that will allow consumer-unfriendly practices to run amok in the industry

Next episode is Zombie Game!! One of my faves, so many parts to keep in one's head. Dunno which to rewatch to get myself in the mood: the original's S1 Zombie Game, or the Virus Game from Devil's Plan.

I'm not making up in my head that Same But Different is identical to a DeathMatch game from a season of the original? God, that shit is tense--turns out, the Stroop effect is real and has our brains in a goddamn chokehold, especially when thousands of pounds are on the line.

I had totally forgotten it up until this fourth round of the Main Match, but I do hope this version keeps the Korean original's most entertaining energy: players trying to break their stoic Dealers.

YES! THERE ARE FLASHBACKS!!! Genius Game is so far not straying from the editing decisions that make it so great, even if it is still leaning a bit on more inter-player drama as is the Western style.

Watching man get rolled while everyone else is making safe and accurate moves is tragic for him, but that's the way the game is played. You can already see not only who has good tactical sense, but which partnerships are strong and who has good overall group rapport, so he was already doomed.

Gold Heist is obviously a flavour of the kind of games that the show is known for, but I dig that a.) people are eager to gun for garnets so early despite the risk, and b.) the setup offers players room to deliberately sabotage an individual peer and then someone IMMEDIATELY DOES SO

Me eh know what to tell you. I’ve come away from an election annoyed, maybe even jaded. But I don’t think I’ve been this full of feelings in a while. It feels like Javier Milei in mustard-yellow. I know what motivates the discontent in other options, but how you could still choose this… incenses me.

Even if you were hoping for robust policy, there are only two potential outcomes: this one (with several wholesale gaps on climate, non-agricultural economy, social programs, and equal opportunity protections) isn’t fulfilled, or arrives in the shadow of her mimicking Trump-style nationalism.

• suggests putting armed police officers in schools in her crime policy; • has anti-immigrant policies in her manifesto (and once lent her political influence to a public anti-immigrant rally); • put a COVID-19 response review in her manifesto despite decrying ‘forced health mandates’ as ‘woke’.

Again, just off the dome, KPB: • thinks LGBT protections are ‘woke’ (despite arguably supporting gay rights 15-odd years ago); • wants guns & Stand Your Ground laws for citizens (& has used rhetoric on the campaign trail previously to imply civilians should actively engage criminals);

The other major party has its own issues, and I want to be patient with people’s discontent. But the next five years in Trinidad are going to be the cover of a song other nations already know the words to, and it won’t sound good—whatever growth we can fight for is going to be harder to win.

We like to make room for how economic anxiety and concerns about crime influence voting, but… something’s got to give when the alternative has exhibited bare xenophobia and homophobia on their platform, and parts of their manifesto have clear racist undertones.

And if dangerous ideologies win, there is only more work, of course--the work to ensure the consequences do not come to bear on citizens or our allies, while fighting for the same growth. The work, as it were, to cook a chicken that refuses to thaw. But the food hadda make.

So much of our politics is imperfect. We may still have a long way to go overall. But at least one can hope that the majority of people think it's wrong to bully immigrants or put armed cops in secondary schools, and then we can do the rest of the work to keep all of us safe and dignified.

I am telling myself this as a reminder. Spoons are LOW. I do not have the action points. I need a mana potion BAD. But so many of the politics that matter are only ready with effort. The major virtue of the ballot is choosing someone who can be convinced over someone who wants to give Granny a gun.
