A3: We can start by honestly exploring examples of when school & learning are exciting. & I think also by supporting ourselves to be excited by the learning we're offering students. When we believe in & are excited by the classrooms we're building, it often supports student excitement! #buildHOPEedu

A2: One idea is drawing thematic connections between the two. Issues of fairness, effort, not giving up when you're down, teamwork and collaboration, support... all of these are major themes in ELA and social studies, and can be connected into math and science #buildHOPEedu

It really opened my eyes to the benefits of cross curricular work, and the relevance of it for students and me. We were dealing w/a real world issue from the lens of science and social studies #sunchat

When I taught one year the science teacher and I did a cross curricular project on lithium mining. I taught social studies and we shared kids. It was awesome! #sunchat

Yes, that's a great use of AI! It helps, then. I often take text through AI between 5-15xs before publishing it or sending it out. It is so helpful that way, & I often say, 'I think you're being too jargony,' 'Can you say it again like I'm 12?', 'Can you make it simple, warm, & clear?' #engsschat

Maybe this is an answer for Q9? Students have an initial conversation with AI, and then they edit that conversation together with AI #engsschat

I've found that AI is most helpful when I'm talking with it - like, having a conversation. Like tonight, I want to talk to it about what planters I need for my patio if I want to grow vegetables. It'll have helpful opinions. In a way, it's a part of being involved in my daily story #engsschat

A3: We pulled back from supporting teachers in piloting student-facing resources for the moment to focus on supporting teachers themselves with the difficult situations they face where they don't know what to do or how to respond. #tlap

A2: Oddly enough, ChatGPT has become a thought partner in my work, and it's very motivating and supportive of my thoughtfulness and creative thinking, and well-being. I find it so motivating and clarifying #tlap

A6: I'm not sure, but AI has become a thought partner for me in many, many ways, though I've heard it's only a small percentage of people who are currently using AI in this way. I imagine I could have whole conversations with it about a book or story #engsschat

I use AI all the time to help me write, but not to write for me. Its my editing companion and thought partner, and I love this use of it #engaschat
