As far as I can tell none of the Infocom games for the NEC APC have been archived (they sold only hundreds per quarter, so not shocking). Presenting… DEADLINE for the NEC APC, running on CP/M-86! #RetroComputing

This article has some bangers like “peer pressure isn’t strategy” and “hybrid complexity is exactly what every infrastructure team was missing in their lives”.

The most ridiculous creature declares bedtime.

If you want live commentary of the OceanGate fiasco documentary from someone who knows, here’s your thread.

To everyone at Cliffhanger - I'm so sorry. If we've ever worked together and I can help somehow please reach out.

Just bought a giant lot of development ROMs from Taito Japan that I'm gonna dump and dissect live a week from today! I genuinely don't know what's in here, but there are multiple unreleased and lost NES/Famicom games from this era, and I have reason to suspect that at least one is here.

In honor of World Otter Day why don't we all take five and check out the live Otter camera feed from @orcoastaquarium.bsky.social? Oswald, Schuster, and Earle are waiting for you! aquarium.org/live-cameras...

If you’re running an Asus router at home you need to know about this.

Maybe that could be my dinner dad?

Once again, @xkcd.com got it right.

This month my incredible partner @mitzistarkweather.bsky.social was diagnosed with metastatic (stage 4) breast cancer. We’re devastated, but hopeful that modern treatments can give her many more years. It will be a long road and if you’re able, we could use your help. gofund.me/4010f535

This is why we’re friends.

Maybe I don’t understand how a french fry cutter works but I think there might be a typo in the instructions?

It's all fun and games until you have to make something new with different angles, or figure out WHY every angle is suddenly not correct, or make machines that can ensure that every angle is correct, or develop software to run those machines, or build processes to ensure that those angles are right.

I see you have pizza…

When I was in middle school and high school I would read every issue of BYTE magazine cover-to-cover many times and daydream about the amazing computers within. In 1983 and 1984 that meant being amazed by the NEC APC.

We had two more biscuits from Seattle’s amazing Honest Biscuits so I made chorizo country gravy.
