That's very true! But I have a feeling because the wood isn't straight not the square haha!

Haha 😂 You have to change a belt over I can see that from the images I've been sent. But! It is speed adjustable so nothing stopping us adding a second belt in the name of efficiency!

Yeah... Not for me!

I'll certainly be giving it a try!

You reckon? I thought the brace looked well past it! I only wanted the bits haha

That's reassuring. I'll try to clean them up and I'll need to buy an auger file too!

Looking great mate, almost there!

Maybe! It's all learning exercise.. some of these pieces have been up for a while though.

That would be great, thank you 😁

It would certainly seem that way!

And again! Do these charts still follow for "Made in England" planes?

Thanks for the link!

Yes, I'm in the UK! Heard good things about the quality of old Record tools.

That's great to hear, I have never restored a plane so I'll definitely be a bit nervous. I have read some articles on it and will watch more videos etc.. before getting started. These are from a deceased family member so I want to do right by him!

It was helpful, thank you! I understand planes and sizes, but identifying them from a photo is not a skill I have... Do you think these can be brought back to serviceable condition?

Looks great, ready for service. Well done, Ken!

Thanks for your reply! I'm really hoping it is a No.4 and No.4 1/2 and not two 4s! I don't have these yet, but they have been collected for me by a family member. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll next see them!

Wahey! Here we go! Come on Ken! 😀

My interest is purely educational 😁 I am welcome to the machine if I want it, but it goes against what I am trying to achieve. I also don't want to bring unnecessary risks into a small shop space as you so rightly pointed out!

Thanks for the link!

I think I'm far enough away to get away with it 😂😂

Sounds to me like Ken needs to prioritise 😂

Wouldn't a makeshift hammer be one of the easiest tools to make for yourself?
