Fine, get him the hell out of the Senate.
Does he know the 3 branches of Alabama state government as well as he knew "The Senate, The President, The Congress" Federal structure?

I'm sure Pittsburgh will do a great job w/ the draft in 2026. Looking forward to that one.
Been watching the #nfl draft since 1989, but am planning to take 2027 in DC off. That ones got every indicator of being a #shitshow b/c you know Trump will insert himself. NFL jumped the shark.

"...and the whole plane laughed" is what makes this post perfection. Bravo!

Everything he says reminds me of the old guys sitting at the Denny's counter everyday talking about how things have gone to hell, how great things used to be & what we oughta bring back (Alcatraz, hanging, old time religion, etc.)
Those guys get blown off but the same shit is pure gold to millions

I've never been one of those "karma is a bitch" people, but I'm a huge believer in "actions have consequences."

AOC & Bernie are the only ones agitating on behalf of more than half of Americans right now. Though a Moderate Dem myself I applaud them but can't help but foresee a 2016 style Bernie Bro split in 2026/28.
I don't blame AOC, I blame the DNC. Time is now to use this energy & get back to the center

When the truth starts trickling out about who these men really are we will likely find that 95%, were taken b/c of simply having brown skin, tattoos, & a menacing look that "fit the part." It's optics in a disgusting reality show run by fascists obsessed with optics and clicks by their base.

And though there is a lean on Bluesky you can have dialogue here, even w/ those who disagree b/c we act like adults. This community has demanded both dialogue AND civility plus Moderation (one can truly have it all).
I think that is why the right has mostly stayed in their own cesspool.

Future historians will talk about her like they talked about Hitler's astrologers.

I would guess that when just a couple layers of this story are peeled back we'll find those chosen as victims for this stunt were because they "looked the part," had tattoos, looked menacing, etc.
Most likely all about optics and who would look good as a villain in their propaganda.

I hope this story resonates b/c it is one of the best examples of what a piece of shit he really is and how badly he suckered anyone who believed he was "all for the troops."
Biden would have met that plane. Even if it was on his birthday or a grandkid's wedding day he would've been there.

That is the thing people tend to forget about losing "good American jobs" in the 80s & 90s. It wasn't foreigners who just suddenly took over but US CEOs and Boards of Directors who moved ops offshore.
Targeted tariffs are 1 tool. Incentives or punitive taxes on those who offshore are others.

Let's also add "Lindsey," as in "don't be a Lindsey" to describe a cowardly sycophant who loves to talk like a statesman but will always shit his pants at the crucial moment and carry water for his master.

Might as well say it loud and proud!

I live in NC and one of my Senators is Tom Tillis. He always called himself a "George Bush Republican" & this gave some hope that he would at least pretend to care what the moderate middle in a Purple State thinks.
Confirmations for Hegseth, Bondi, Patel, etc. prove otherwise.

That was one of the things I liked most about your book - how most people just kind of complied b/c gov't directives didn't sound too bad on the surface & might actually be helpful. The tactic relies on normalizing overreach & discouraging critical thought - both also well-portrayed in your work.

And Mexico is going to pay for it. We'll have a concept of a plan very shortly.

Interesting that the innate need to protect turf by some Cabinet Secs is driving the tension. Love that petty jealousy may drive Musk to be called "not one of us" by those who've kissed ass longer & this could derail DOGE.
I saw this movie repeatedly in 30 yrs of corporate downsizing & re-orgs.

I've long thought this would be the way authoritarianism would unfold and be installed - lots of meaningless sound and fury to cover the truly insidious stuff that would slide in quietly and be taken as normal over time.
Our Missing Hearts depicted this quiet erosion very well.

Incredible that many still perceive a "personal relationship" that will protect them individually.
Would like to think that many/most will ultimately work through the stages and figure it out but the depths of mass delusion don't make for optimism.

Balls & Strikes need to be fully automated w/ high speed cameras. Allowing the Plate Umpire to control the game by imposing his version - X gets that call, Y doesn't is what makes the pace of the game glacial.
And BTW nobody pays the see the ump's patented Strike 3 "punchout" move - ban that too

It's about damned time. Umpiring on the basepaths & the field is generally good but for some reason MLB has allowed the home plate umpire to control the game with his version of how things should go - X gets that call, Y doesn't.
And BTW nobody pays to see their little Strike 3 "punchout" moves.

Crenshaw always seems like someone who could be made to see reason because underneath the bluster he actually sees it. But then he always toes the line, saying something insipid and sheep-like.

That will ultimately be how tax breaks for the wealthy are paid for but I would predict he and Johnson will justify them first with "massive savings from DOGE"

Trump is obsessed with winning the Nobel Peace Prize and has no problem rolling over Ukraine and European allies while appeasing Putin to get it.
The sad irony is, of course, he would never win the prize, but a delusional narcissist sees his window.
