So when I see New Zealand’s Prime Minister saying things like this, it’s so clear to me that his life has been deeply deficient of culturally diverse experience, environments that cultivate empathy & understanding of this country’s socio-political and historical identity. He is so utterly deficient.

There are examples of this "highway creep" phenomenon in Christchurch. During the Cranford St clearway debate I pointed to the Curletts Road clearway, which is a de facto four-lane highway. Now we're seeing the same effect in the trial clearway at Hospital Corner.

That was an unusually specific change.

...as the change away from that to single-councillor wards (with FPP voting) is great for incumbents but has been poor for diversity. 2/2

Yes, acknowledge that they can and do make determinations that differ from what councils propose, including notably a recent win for community board in Western Bay of Plenty. I would have loved to have seen Christchurch being required to revert to multi-councillor wards... 1/2

"Nicole’s passionate yet cordial presentation of arguments ... critical to being heard in the febrile political environment created by the Mosque shootings in March 2019." Febrile!? Excuse me???

With all respect, Labour needs to be doing a LOT of spelling out.

One of my kids is scaffolding. 10 hour days outside in winter weather, still a teenager, can't keep weight on because he's burning so many calories. This job does not pay well.

Seems like an opportunity for opposition parties to make their position clear?

Fertile ground for an OIA request for a copy of the advice she's referring to?
