He said it was “signed by a judge.” But they say lots of stuff that isn’t true.

With all due respect, Senator, calling something “disturbing,” “concerning,” or “troubling” is about as effective as “thoughts and prayers.” We’re way past that now.

The weird thing is, when you call it out for being wrong, it sheepishly admits it and then gives you another answer that may or may not be correct. It’d be comical except for the fact that most people aren’t going to bother validating any information it gives.

“Despite escalating rhetoric…” Don’t panic, but we’ve traced the escalating rhetoric and it’s coming from inside the (White) House.

And yet it is the Israel govt that is pushing illegal settlements in the West Bank, encouraging Jewish settlers to steal Palestinian homes, encouraging settler violence, destroying 98% of the millions of homes in Gaza, etc. while hundreds of far-right Israelis are chanting “death to Arabs”

What’s the point of defeating Republicans if the Democratic incumbent won’t oppose the Republican agenda in any significant way?
comment in response to post
It may violate norms, but it’s not explicitly against the rules to support another Democratic candidate in a primary. Article 5 Section 4 of the DNC charter states only: ““A member of the DNC shall refrain from supporting or endorsing a non-Democratic candidate who opposes a Democratic nominee.”

He is working to elect Democrats- Democrats who will actually fight against Trump. If you’re a Democratic incumbent in a safe district and you’re still too timid to stand up and fight, resign now or be primaried by a Democrat who isn’t.

“An Evening at the Kennedy Center, Brought to you by Moxie Pest Control!” says everything that needs to be said.

Pretty sure National Guard members didn’t sign up to be concentration camp guards.

“This bipartisan resolution sends a powerful message: the United States Congress stands with those fighting for freedom, dignity, and democratic values in China and Hong Kong.” How about standing with those fighting for freedom, dignity, and democratic values IN the United States?

Powerful essay- thank you!

I thought proclamations were ceremonial and don’t carry the force and effect of law?

“The team carefully unearthed four skeletons, including one with a bullet in the spine, and three amputated legs.” This story would have been much more interesting without that second comma.

It’s not a mistake, it’s a deliberate choice.

That could have been easily countered with a “no, he’s for HIM” ad. But no, they went on the defensive and threw vulnerable classes under the bus. Again. And the “think tanks” think they should double-down on that strategy.

“Alternatively— stay with me, now— we could try political street theater by (get this) handing out TACOS to embarrass Trump! You know, the whole Tic Tacs viral meme! It’s so much cheaper and easier than fighting Fascism in Congress and the Courts!” - Every DNC “strategist”

This is why I’m so infuriated. IDGAF about your pathetic attempts at “going viral” in the TikTok age. What the actual fuck are you doing to at least delay, if not defeat, right wing authoritarianism and brutal fascist tactics right now? I don’t need you to tell me TFG is terrible, I know that!

Yes, but that’s essentially where comparisons of the two films end. FDTD is a fun, pulpy, popcorn movie. Sinners is a rich, multi-layered narrative that is also a celebration of music as a spiritual and cultural force binding communities together.

Pro tip: put in the Faces box set (Five Guys Walk into a Bar). It’s arranged not chronologically but like a Faces concert set list. Bliss.

And yet the Federalist Society did more than anyone else to make a “man” like Trump possible.

I find myself wanting to shake hands with whomever gave Musk that shiner, then immediately recoiling in disgust as I realize that person was quite possibly Stephen Miller. 🤮

That’s a conversation the red hat brigade will never have with themselves.

Again, neither the tests nor the results have been published. We only have the word of a Russian Oligarch that she has “variations in sex.” Furthermore, she is Algerian, has an Algerian birth certificate that indicates she was born female, from 1999; Algeria does not recognize non-binary genders.
comment in response to post
She allegedly failed an unspecified gender test. IBA, the governing body that administered the test is Russia-controlled and mired by n controversy and has had its Olympic status revoked. They refuse to explain the tests or the failure, claiming “specifics remain confidential.”
comment in response to post
What’s the publicly available evidence for your claim? Thinking that she doesn’t appear “feminine” enough isn’t evidence.
comment in response to post
Is that test going to be required of all boxers or just those that don’t conform to some subjective “femininity” standard?

“Centrism:” insisting on “both-sides-ism” even while acknowledging that no moral equivalence exists between the opposing sides. More bluntly: craven political opportunism- business as usual.

Convincing pathetic losers that a black guy or a woman or an immigrant is responsible for the failure of that pathetic loser is ridiculously easy and is a cornerstone of MAGA “policy.”

And you assumed that meant all men? Or you assumed it meant you? I’m not sure which is more telling.

Yeah, I’m betting on Teddy.

It’s good to see Trump finally admit that he was doing everything in his power to kneecap Ukraine and prevent Putin’s embarrassing defeat.
