My middle schooler came out last year. Their friends at school happily accepted new name and pronouns. My 3rd grader happily accepted new name and pronouns. All of our friends' kids, some as young as 3, happily accepted new name and pronouns.

It's good to occasionally write some code just for the sake of it. Personally I enjoy trying to make make stuff purely functional (aka no variables or flow control); e.g. this will spit out a randomized (and idealized; in real life there's 2/3 face pieces) Rubik's cube configuration.
