BBC Condemns Israel After IDF Soldiers Strip-Searched & Detained Journalists At Gunpoint deadline.com/2025/06/bbc-...

50 years ago today, when Britain voted to remain in Europe (and not by a small majority but a large one), the Sun, Daily Mail, Telegraph, etc were not owned by three far-right Europhobes.

1930’s Germany reincarnated.

This is welcome and long overdue. MPs are now calling on the UK government to ban trawling and dredging in "Marine Protected Areas". It's outrageous that this wholescale destruction is permitted anywhere, let alone in these "reserves". It has to stop. committees.parliament.uk/publications...

“it’s common sense that children can’t do well at school if they’re hungry. That's why today I'm proud to announce that over half a million more children will get a free school meal every day” Prime minister Keir Starmer www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

The headline writing in the Guardian reflects a strong anti-Labour Government bias, not just in this article. This plays into the hands of the Reform party, which is a far Right populist organisation aiming to destroy the UK's social system and enrich leaders. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

We should not forget that Netanyahu supported the funding of Hamas for years as it minimised the possibility of a Palestinian state. Responsibility for much of what happened lies on his shoulders. www.timesofisrael.com/for-years-ne...

“Deadly attacks on distraught civilians trying to access the paltry amounts of food aid in Gaza are unconscionable,” Türk said. “Attacks directed against civilians constitute a grave breach of international law and a war crime.” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

Shocking (and potentially rule breaking) actions by Reform at Kent County Council. They need to immediately be held to account to stop this sort of behaviour before it really gets out of hand.

Reform are up to no good at Kent County Council. By passing democratic processes, cancelling committee meetings, unelected officials trying to access data they shouldn't have access to, threatening staff, people with no connection to Kent and not elected to the council announcing decisions. 1/2

Another atrocity. Cold blooded murder and butchery of Palestinian civilians who are being starved by Israel. The historical parallels are obvious. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

If Israel starves the Palestinans, a war crime, it must take responsibilty for the effect it has starving families. Its response is to injure and kill those it is starving. These many atrocities are a festering poison in the soul of the Israeli nation. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Courageous people to speak up. It’s the right thing to do of course, but they are in a minority that is prepared to put their head above the parapet.

BREAKING: “Large American online platforms have become seas of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, islamophobia, and hate in all its forms.” Mark Carney is saying what U.S. leaders are too cowardly to: your tech billionaires are breeding hate for profit.

In Gaza, hospitals have collapsed. Babies ran out of formula. Clean drinking water is gone. Meanwhile, trucks filled with aid are waiting idle by the border. Instead of trying to do a Gaza real estate deal, Trump should press the Netanyahu government to open aid routes & stop starving Palestinians.

Unfit to look after a dog, he rules the USA as if it is his to dispose of, and all its people. His continuing support tells us that decency and truth have been abandoned by his supporters. A dangerous lunatic controls the USA and it bodes ill for us all. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

There are no safe routes for seeking refugee status for most people, which is why they take to small boats The UK Government decision to remove safe, legal ways for people to claim asylum in the British Isles is what feeds the disastrous situation we see today Seeking refuge should not be a crime.

Wild camping on Dartmoor is legal, supreme court rules

A bloody good job that something was done. Deranged theories cooked up by people like Neil Oliver on GB News about the COVID vaccine, linking it to "turbo cancer" which does not exist, were promulagated by Marshall's "news". www.thetimes.com/uk/media/art...

David Lammy to Priti Patel: “It seems the [Conservative frontbench] is refusing to confront the appalling reality of what is happening in Gaza and what the Netanyahu govt is doing... “It is wrong. It is appalling. Will she condemn it?”

The United Kingdom is back. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇪🇺

Speaks for itself.

"Everybody has been waiting for this to happen. Thank heavens the grownups are back in the room instead of people trying to make the EU to be the bad guys when it is the (UK) who cut us out of the market in the first place and rejected the original SPS deal.” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

At last, some action from some Western Governments. A small step, but one to support. www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...

Response to EU reset 1️⃣ Morrisons: "will remove cost, complexity and delay in food imports from the EU". 2️⃣ Asda: "Potential to significantly reduce costs".

Fish & shellfish caught in British waters will now be processed and sold into the EU without veterinary checks, eliminating huge red tape, checks, costs and delays created by Brexit. Given that 70% of seafood caught in UK is sold in EU, this is a big win.

Delighted that some small steps have been taken to repair our relationship with the EU. Brexit legitimised the hatred of foreigners that has poisoned the nation and politics. The author of that poison is Nigel Farage. This deal is a start to recover some decency and truthfulness in our country.

"I recognise the error and that upset I caused," Lineker said. No. The only upset you caused was that supporters of genocide were upset you were calling them out. Nobody remotely buys the “anti-Semitic trope” 🐂💩. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx...

This is spot on from @adambienkov.bsky.social Whatever your thoughts on this deal the simple fact is for the first time a UK government is actually doing something to undo the catastrophic damage of Brexit, rather than increase it

Times's Syed has had to come out to condemn Israel. "Netanyahu and (even hawkish Israelis know it), who now — through a steady accumulation of moral complicity — find themselves searching for a justification for what almost certainly amount to war crime" (Paywalled) www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

Over 100,000 people are marching through The Hague against Israel's war on Gaza. Wearing red clothing and forming a line, they are demanding the government draw a red line in its stance against Israel. It's the largest protest in the Netherlands in 20 years.

Thatcher was an architect of the "island of strangers" (she loved it). Not the result of a spike in immigration over the last few years. Starmer take note and clear your head of Rightwing xenophobic and racist fears. They want an all white England, nothing less. observer.co.uk/news/opinion...

The stupid people with narrow xenophobic views remain stupid with xenophobic views in spite of cast iron evidence that they were wrong. A message for Keir Starmer: they will always be xenophobic, narrow minded, and full of crass, dumb beliefs or worse. Not Labour. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

"But they (Israel) can make no such claim for the use of mass hunger, which is indiscriminate by its very nature. It is legally a war crime and morally unconscionable. And yet it is the stated policy of this despicable Israeli government." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
