It also reminded me how often the burden of “fixing” these injustices gets pushed onto individuals — “just work harder,” “just move,” “just save up.”
But when the system itself was rigged for generations, individual effort alone isn’t enough.

One handful of sand on the gears: Showed up to support a demand that Portland OR city council pull the permit for ICE to operate in our so called Sanctuary City. They’ve only had a permit since 2011 when city council was all white. Currently, the council is very diverse so there’s hope.

Fair enough. That’s a valid criticism. I didn’t know the organizer was going to use AI for campaign art when I joined.
My only public comment against generative AI was around environmental impact, as that’s been my primary concern (though, yes, I’ve had my work scraped, too).
