Watching nearly every political party in the UK chase the same 20% of the worst people in the country, ignoring the other 80%, just to please the papers. Nothing will change in the UK until the papers are taken in hand. Not all the media, just the papers. The rest will flow from there.

Good news for the people who are now getting the payments, but what an absolute waste of time, not to mention worry on the part of the people who'd lost it. The outcome? Another U-turn which eats even further into the government's credibility www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Can we make Prime Minister an AI position, it already does not require any sort of spine

Never forget that he didn't call the National Guard on January 6th!!! ("AMERICA! AMERICA! 2022, 5ft10"x7ft10", charcoal & graphite on paper)

if Thunberg is brave enough to repeatedly put herself directly in harm’s way, then journalists can be brave enough to say that a civilian vessel was illegally seized in international waters, and its crew abducted

Is this because no women in burqas ever come to speak to Kemi Badenoch at her constituency surgery

Could this be any more obviously politically motivated? And we allegedly have a human rights lawyer as a prime minister. Pathetic. #freeWilliamPlastow www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

A terrifying thought

Greenpeace petition to stop supermarkets flooding us with throwaway plastic. Push supermarkets and the government to take bold action in global talks this August. Sick of all the plastic? Add your name: act.gp/42K7pZy

Been watching a lot of Stewart Lee videos lately, and in an interview with Alexei Sayle they mention the Dustin Hoffman film Lenny. Just watched it. America, man. That damn America.

The leopards They are eating each other yes YES The leopards are HUNGRY

Isn’t this… precisely what bus driver training is meant to prevent

ANYONE who thinks ANY group should accept fewer human rights than everyone else is totally unfit to serve as an EHRC commissioner.

Well this couldn’t have come at a better time www.bbc.com/news/article...

I think we all knew Elon and Donny would fall out, I just didn’t think it would happen so quickly

Bloke in the pub just told me I have a beautiful denim suit. I suppose it could look like that, but I’m just doing my usual double denim.

Noel Gallagher after he was charged £250 for a tube ticket because the tickets are 'in demand'.

Nice piece about the resilient tardigrade who will be here long after we've messed up the planet. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Israeli forces have destroyed Gaza’s only specialised dialysis facility, Al Jazeera reports. The bombing and blockade have long left disabled people without life-sustaining medication and equipment whilst disabling tens of thousands more. Thinking of every disabled and chronically ill Palestinian.

If white people across the country started singing “Free Palestine” to the tune of “Sweet Caroline” when a little drunk this summer at their white people bars in their little polos and $70 flip flops I think the worst “journalists” in the world would actually implode

Shirts. I am interested in shirts

That awkward moment when you’re trying to record your solo and the studio assistant hands you their demo tape.

Feeling really rather cruddy today

Not sure why you need to chase Reform voters when there are millions of disaffected voters who would quite honestly make do with a Labour party that showed a bit of compassion and vision.

Do Reform voters know that Farage favours replacing the nhs with an American insurance system. The Americans pay twice as much per head for healthcare yet millions are not covered. The largest healthcare company queries 1/3 of claims. #reform #nhs #farage

Palestinians gunned down while trying to reach food aid site in Gaza, hospital says

It's true, electrocution will cure a migraine, and probably everything else at the same time. (Seriously how do people who write and edit these stories manage to hold down a job?)

Yes I had read that in the headline

Funniest detail to me re: Thom Yorke's weird relationship to Israel is that it's the first place Creep really took off so Israel kinda launched Radiohead's career. Israeli music fans could not get enough of a song that asks "what the hell am I doing here" and answers with "I don't belong here."
